Terrible staff, the woman that checked my in was the most rude person I’ve ever met. She refused to allow my boyfriend to check in even though he was on the list of people we had as reserved check ins. The most unprofessional staff I’ve ever met. Do not go to this hotel.

The night I checked in, the woman running the front desk and another woman who may have been maintenance were outside more than once smoking weed. They also harassed one of my coworkers trying to get him to go get high with them and to go to karaoke. The breakfast staff acted like they had no clue what was going on. There were no plates out for the hot buffet or the fruit. The coffee was awful. This hotel does not live up to typical Hilton garden inn standards. I will not stay here again and it’s going to come off of my company’s list of preferred hotels.

Our trip could have been completely ruined when we went to check in about 10pm only to find the room was already occupied. It was late, we had 2 tired children with us and the front desk team worked to find a solution for us. Thank you for that! Offering a $15 discount does not seem like adequate compensation for the error and great inconvenience but I wasn't going to argue at that time of night. The breakfast team seems completely overworked. The 3 options - ordering breakfast, continental breakfast and continental plus hot breakfast is a complete disaster. Go early if you want breakfast otherwise you'll be waiting a long time or may not even get what you order. They were out of dishes, bowls, cups. The lady was so stressed out saying she had to also wash dishes so please be patient. Where was the manager to assist? The hotel looked to be completely full so having another person and/or manager available would have been a wise move. It's in the Town Center of Virginia Beach, think small city. Parking is across the street in the garage which is fine unless you have a good amount of stuff. It is pet friendly but there's hardly any grass around for pets to use. Again, think small city. If your pets are fine doing their business in dirt and sand, it's fine. It's very close to shopping and restaurants. We did not use the pool or any other amenities. We merely slept there, showered, had breakfast and left. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

Booked what I thought was a really good hotel.First time for my retired parent to see the beach. So I made sure I got what I thought was a great hotel. I will never in my life stay at any Hilton hotel.Worst experience of my life. In the king suite I booked. The carpet in the bedroom in front of the bathroom was frayed up and tiny carpet nails sticking out. Well we didn't notice at first and how the house cleaning supervisor didn't notice or even attempt to have maintenance fix it is beyond me.Long story short my 68 year old step-dad stepped on it before he noticed it and the nail tacks went through his foot. We showed a photo at the front desk they did nothing .Didn't offer us a different room or even a full refund. They said they would have the manager contact us. we left our number but that never happened.I'm pretty sure the manager was never notified. I personally had experience working a hotel year's ago country inn and suites and I can tell you the whole situation was handled poorly. I'm not even going to mention every other detail in that room that broke safety policies. Save your money book elsewhere.

Visited for a wedding. Stayed 2 nights. They were polite and allowed us to check in early.Unfortunately our room was unclean. Hair in the bathroom and tub with a funny smell. Our second room was better. The pool was closed for maintenance.Out of maybe 4 or 5 front desk clerks we met only 2 of them had real customer service.Parking was ok.The morning breakfast crew on Monday was wonderful. She made sure we were accommodated. The chef made sure we enjoyed our food and was pleasant to speak to.Expectations for Hilton was not met.Unlikely to stay here again.

My stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Town Center was quite disappointing. From the moment I arrived, I was met with an unpleasant odor that lingered throughout the hotel and even into my room. The property is extremely dated, with decor that feels old and uninspired. The room itself was very basic and lacked any sense of comfort or modernity.Despite keeping the air conditioning on, the room felt damp and uncomfortable for the entire stay. I also had persistent issues with my room key deactivating, and the card scanner was unreliable, making access to the room frustrating. The pillows were flat and clearly overdue for replacement, and the linens were in dire need of an update. Overall, the room was far from what I would expect from a Hilton property. To add to the disappointment, the pool and hot tub were under renovation, something that wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the hotel’s website. This was a letdown, as I had hoped to use these amenities during my stay. The only redeeming factor for this hotel is its location, which is convenient with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. However, even this positive aspect doesn’t outweigh the numerous negatives. Having stayed at other Hilton properties, this was by far the worst experience, and I would not recommend this hotel until significant improvements are made.

Quaint but elegant Colonial style decor, comfortable rooms, some with fireplaces. Also has an on location restaurant with menu and buffet style offerings at the Swan Terrace Restaurant. I had beef brisket, mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. Highly recommend. Family friendy! About 20 minutes from the beach front.

I come here for thanksgiving dinner every year. Not afraid to admit I go back for thirds then end it all with dessert. I will say the turkey is the saltiest meat I’ve ever tasted. Must be what taking acid tastes like. The big Christmas tree makes up for it. I forgive whoever cooked the turkey ❤️

In November, I enjoyed 5 nights at this hotel. Ivenia greeted me at the reservation desk, provided me with a nice room, told me about their restaurant, spa services and other amenities, and made me feel very welcome. My stay was comfortable and I felt safe. I enjoyed my stay so much that I will be returning there this week.

We had reservations for the Thanksgiving buffet in the Virginia ballroom. It was very beautiful although the table they sat us in was half chairs/ half booths and they left no space for people to get in and out of the booth, it was very confusing and frustrating. The food was decent, however the cranberry sauce seemed to be full of corn starch and was so unbelievably tart and sour it was inedible. The dessert stations were unmanned and looked like a second grader had been playing in them. They automatically added 20% to your bill no matter the size of your party for gratuity and I’m not quite sure the service was up to par. Unsure if we will return in the future. The hotel is beautiful and beautifully decorated.

If you're looking for something unique this is definitely it. Beautifully decorated hotel, very old south feel. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable, and halls are quiet. Something that one may find surprising or unique about this property is the rooms are not connected to the main building housing the lobby, restaurant, and event space. However there is a covered walkway so you are protected from the elements. This was not an issue for me, I actually quite liked the concept. The property also has beautiful landscaping, and peaceful setting. Yet it's not too far from everything else. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and always makes my stay so much nicer. If you're lucky you'll get to see them host a wedding. It really is like watching a production! I've eaten in the bar a few times and the food was great. In my opinion it's better than the options nearby off property.

Beautiful hotel, massive pool. Loved walking around the pond but I really miss the swans! Food in the Swan Terrace was great as always. I was disappointed the hunt room was never open even though we stayed Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The Commonwealth had friendly staff, great food and drinks. Our room was redone and was very spacious and had everything we needed. The oceanfront is only about a 20 minute drive. Highly recommend a visit.
