Had a great stay! Amazing service, wonderful pool area, lots of outdoor seating, great location. But I wasn’t crazy about their parking - very compact spaces and the daily price was ridiculous.

Run, don’t walk—you have to stay at La Estancia! This was the most magical Christmas I’ve ever had. Carlos and Nick at the bar created the most inventive, delicious cocktails, while Alania, Natalie, and Abigail at the front desk set a new standard for hospitality with their incredible warmth and attention to detail. As a former barista, I was blown away by Tia’s honey cinnamon latte (made with honey from their own hive!). And Wisna from housekeeping ensured every moment was flawless. This team defines holiday magic—don’t miss out!

Lovely property in the middle of the city with cute desert resort oasis vibes, but not a perfect stay. The concierge and front desk was great (shout out to Kai for helpful service), and so were the staff at the Green Finch restaurant (particularly Dali). The food at that restaurant was really good too!Unfortunately the walls are really thin in the rooms and we could hear our neighbors chatting late into the night. The bed was also too soft and the pillows for the king bed were very big and uncomfortable. Housekeeping staff were also not very friendly.Because I had a poor nights sleep I probably wouldn’t stay here again, but I’d definitely do a day pass here to hang out and eat onsite.

Stayed over here as part of a buss trip. The grounds are nice and provide a relaxing vibe. During the chilly May month it was too cold to enjoy the evening more but I can imagine in the summer it must be rather nice. I loved the lobby layout, it looked fantastic with the fire in the middle. Staff were friendly everywhere. Parking expensive at almost 50$ to put just your car I find it exaggerated. There is breakfast available and a small shop for things on the go in case you need something. There was a wedding or something like that ongoing but that didn’t bother. I took in room dining some fish and it tasted great. For walking around you need your room card with you, as for every corridor you cross you need to scan your room card otherwise the door won’t open. A bit annoying if you need to cross 3-4 corridors and forgot your card (if one door was open or held open for you, and you realise after you forgot your card you are trapped in the middle). My biggest complaint however is that even though I had asked a quiet room, I was given a room facing the parking lot and not only that, the ventilation system in the room was so loud I have never had in any hotel. I slept with my noise cancellation headphones on. My colleagues in the neighbouring room had the same issue. Terrible and never again. Room 375.

Happened upon this resort on our road trip along the coast and am happy we did. The grounds are gorgeous with luscious plants everywhere and an open feel. It gives secret garden vibes. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Kevin the bartender was especially awesome, crafted amazing drinks and made our experience memorable. The breakfast croissant sandwich from the cafe is yummy, also recommend the vanilla lattes. The rooms were clean and well put together. For a relaxing getaway this is your place.

Cute property. Good location. Average service. Room 265 felt damp & electric in room was not quite right (flickered). AC unit couldn't effectively regulate temp. They offer text-based concierge service - response via text was great, but not actual follow-through on the requests. Pillows were square bricks (ask for down pillows); in-room coffee was horrible - go to the coffee shop on property (good cappuccino). $23 smoothie from room service was $ but tasty. I had higher expectations for $500+/night, but I guess this is new norm. Small touches could really elevate the rooms.

What an incredible place. Our twins 3 years old had never experienced a hotel and this was their first. I cannot even begin to explain how fantastic the experience was for adults and kids. There is a pool bartender named Chad who is the coolest guy ever. My kids wanted to join the adults cocktail hour and he was so gracious and brought out a round of kids cocktails without us even asking. This place is a must. I can’t wait to go back

La Jolla escape from Downtown La Jolla 😆. The village is fun and bustling, but just a 10 min drive to north of the beach is Estancia, a resort hotel that makes your visit tranquil and relaxing. The entire staff makes you feel welcomed each day, engaging in conversation and giving tips on various aspects of the resort. The entire resort has been remodeled in the past few years; the lobby is open and relaxing with a casual elegance to it, the outdoor spaces provided seating to relax and read, work, nap. The rooms are excellent, I love the tile work in the entry and restroom. We especially loved the atmosphere at the restaurant "Mustangs & Burros." The staff was friendly and helpful, the menu was diverse yet focused, and the food was excellent. If you live in the SD area, you should visit Mustangs & Burros for sure.I rarely prefer resorts, I like to get out to eat, explore, and see the area we are visiting. Estancia is the best of both; it has fabulous amenities, yet it is close the the village, beaches, and SD.

Such a great stay! We came down for a family trip to Lego Land but wanted to stay in SD vs. Carlsbad. Our two queen room had an amazing view of the USS Midway which blew away our two boys. Great amount of space for a family of four. Overall, the hotel was clean, quiet, staff were all friendly and helpful, and valet was quick. Our star of the show was Kirk, who was our bellman. We ran into him all over the hotel and he was always happy to hear whatever tales of adventures my kids had that day. He was hospitality through and through.

The experience has been amazing with my family in this hotel. The service is outstanding! After we checked in, there is service message from the front desk to check if everything is ok. After we noticed there is a little leftover on the floor, they sent us cleaner in 30 mins to tidy up. It’s very considerate. The view is amazing and the room is so beautiful. The only feedback I would give is that the amenity fee $50 charge for the stay daily is not that reasonable. Even we don’t use the amenity room, it still applies. The hotel amenity should be included at the hotel fee I guess.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible experience we had during our stay at the Intercontinental. A huge thank you to Maria and Karina at the front desk, who went above and beyond in making my three-year-old daughter’s birthday unforgettable. Not only did they provide thoughtful birthday surprises, but she also took the time to make my daughter feel like a princess, which made her day all the more memorable. Maria’s and Karina’s kindness and professionalism truly elevated our experience. And my daughter could not wait to come to the lobby to see her friend!Thank you again to the entire team for making my daughter’s birthday a day we will cherish forever. We’ll certainly be back, and we’ll be recommending this hotel to all our friends and family!

Amazing hotel! Very clean. Staff go above and beyond to be helpful and courteous. Kirk (bellhop?) met us at the door, loaded our belongings onto the cart, waited while we checked in at the desk, and then showed us to our room on the 7th floor while pushing our cart the whole way. He was an incredibly kind man and we had great conversation the entire way! Definitely a gem! There were added features in the room like an alarm clock radio that you can dock your iPhone on which made getting ready for our event that much better! The view from the room was incredible! Downtown San Diego lit up at night and the beautiful harbor the next morning. Definitely will be staying here again!

My girlfriend and I visited this past weekend for vacation, and for me to propose (unbeknownst to my now fiancée). I made two separate reservations for the stay with a much nicer suite for our last night there following the proposal, and the staff was so helpful and accomodating throughout it all.Karina in particular was so helpful during our whole stay, between checking us out of our first room, into our suite, extending our late checkout as a courtesy, and going above and beyond to locate a little Bluetooth speaker we’d accidentally left behind in our first room, she is the best! She truly showed she cared about us and our stay, and did everything she could to make sure our time there was amazing! In addition to the service, the rooms were great with some incredible views of the city and the bay. Very clean and spacious rooms!
Excellent hotel. Very well located 100 meters from Santa Fe Depot and 50 meters from the boardwalk in downtown San Diego. The reception staff is impeccable, almost all of them speak Spanish. There is a fee of about $50 per room per night, but they give you credit for about $24 at their bar and restaurant. California after all.Extremely clean, quiet and with excellent amenities in the bathroom. In the lower part they have a liquor that is a little expensive, but you can take "the one from the road" and a snack.I'll be back soon.

Everything was great at the hotel, until checkout . Then come the surprising Amenity fees , which is like $50 per night . It is also known as Resort fee in Florida but this is not a resort hotel. I asked the receptionist why i was not told about this fee while checking in and what it was for . They replied it was for use of the gym, pool and wifi...the former two of which I never used . So in other words , there is no free wifi, no free gym and no free pool. It's like flying on a budget airline and having to pay for extras .I wish hotels in the US , would be upfront with customers and give them the actual rate with all fees and taxes and not surprise us with hidden fees on checkout ....otherwise the hotel had great service , nice weekend breakfast buffet and rooms .Having said that Resort/ Amenity fees ,etc are an American thing , not just at this hotel , but all over the country .... hopefully does not catch on in Europe and rest of the world .

This hotel does not care about health or safety! We booked a trip for September 17th-21st, unfortunately the day before the stay my pregnant wife tested positive for Covid. We obviously were not going to stay there as we did not want to get anyone sick and spread a deadly disease. The contacted the hotel and asked if we could receive a refund or even credit for future use it took them 10 days to deny the request. They must want sick people to go to their hotel and get the guests and employees sick there.Unreal that a disease that is deadly doesn’t allow you to get refunds. Unacceptable.Edit: The hotel is trying to say we received credit which is not true we have not received nothing from the hotel, it is a pity comment to make themselves look better. We even paid for a covid test result to show them we are not lying. Unbelievable.

The hotel itself was awesome! Staff was awesome! Rooms were beautiful and clean! I’m only giving it a 4 star because of the beds. I was so uncomfortable all 3 nights. Our room needed a new mattress and the pillows were terrible on my neck. Hotels need better pillows in general but this hotel room needed a whole new bed.

This hotel is something else, from the beautiful views to the convenience of location in the middle of San Diego downtown/bay. The cleanliness and attention to detail is second to none , from the warm welcome as you arrive from the front drive men, to the greetings from the front desk agents entering their gorgeous lobby. Michael Savage id like to add was a saving grace , as our trip was slightly changed and the arrival was missed on the first day of our reservation, but with a phone call and friendly conversation , he saved the entire trip by helping with getting the dates changed to better fit our time frame. I'd also like to give a shout out to Mackenzie at the front desk for the warm welcome, explaining the layout of the hotel as well as checking in both days to see if everything was well. I will definitely be coming to this hotel again and recommending it to family and friends that come to visit San Diego!

We loved everything about our stay! We were here this past week with our 2 young kids. Starting with the Front Office, Santiago and Michael were amazingly helpful and provided excellent service. The rooms are modern and exceptionally clean. Housekeeping is very thorough, and anytime we called with a request, they were at our door within 10 minutes. The location of the hotel can't be beat. It's right across from the Midway and a 5-minute walk from the Maritime Museum. We didn't even need our car during our entire stay since there's plenty of family friendly activities to do within walking distance. We also did the Flagship Harbor Boat Tour and took a quick walk to the Little Italy Food Hall.We dined everyday at Vista and/or Garibaldi and the staff at both restaurants were attentive and prompt. There's also a Starbucks conveniently located on the ground floor. The hotel spaces and room are top-notch. Truly leaves nothing to be desired. This will be our top-choice hotel whenever we visit San Diego.
