We stayed here last weekend for my girlfriend’s birthday. I arranged (and paid) to have flowers and champagne in the premier king room when we arrived. So, when the room was actually ready (after waiting an hour) there were no flowers and no champagne waiting for her. They delivered those after we checked in. So much for a birthday surprise?
We paid extra for the King’s Club, which was nice.
Upon arriving to the rooftop pool, we sat down in some empty lounge chairs to then be accosted by your employee, Allie, who instructed us we had to move because these seats were “reserved” yet there was no indication of that. There were no empty spots to move to so we asked her if we could stay and pay to “reserve” these chairs and she replied “No, the sign must have blown off but you can sit on the side of the pool.”
Seriously? Wow. I guess that only those with reservations control the whole pool.
That being said, we will not be staying here again. As a “luxury” hotel, which I paid a premium to stay, the experience is less than top-notch. As we travel to Charleston often, there are several more accommodating high-end places in which we will choose to spend our money.
