Room and location were great but service was terrible. I called the day before my arrival to ask about leaving my suitcase at the front desk before check-in (I was headed to a conference) and was told this was fine. When I showed up, no one was at the hotel, and I had to take my suitcase with me to the conference before returning to check-in later today.

I just got off the phone with the most wonderful representative of the Sterling Hotel. Her name is Katrina. She was so friendly, professional and accommodating! The best!! If our coming stay is half as good as she is it will be GREAT!!! We are looking forward to our trip in March EVEN MORE after talking to Katrina. Updates to follow after our trip.

Our group got 8 rooms. All of the rooms are very spacious, comfortable, and the hotel is beautiful. Plumbing and electrical are old and not all of the showers got hot water. 1 of the rooms smelled very musty and looked dusty, but all the others were clean, bright, and didn’t have a smell. I would stay again.

After a long at Golden Sky we spent the evening at The Sterling Hotel room 103.We checked in after hours and the lock box was convenient. Hotel had water & snacks in the bar area which we really appreciated.Room was everything we needed. Bed was comfy and did the trick. Bathroom is stocked with nice towels & toiletries.

This is not a hotel. No one’s at the front desk on weekends and evenings. Rooms are filthy. Found cigarettes in my room! No amenities. Extremely expensive. Stay away!

Absolutely loved staying at the Sterling while in Sacramento for a conference. I opted to stay here instead of the official conference hotel because I prefer unique, independent establishments, and it was a wonderful decision. The spacious room, high ceilings, comfortable bed, plush towels, and especially the dreamy bathtub made my work trip feel like vacation. While guest services are minimal, everyone I interacted with was lovely and I didn’t lack for anything. I look forward to staying here again!

We had a very enjoyable stay in an historical hotel. We liked the convenience and its location close to entertainment and dining venues. But mostly, the ambiance and service. It’s an old historical house so the furniture might have a nick or two. It’s unique, in a very good way. Before you stay there, read its history. Would we recommend the Sterling? Absolutely. We already do. Nice friendly staff; nice comfortable rooms. Returning very soon!

We didn't stay here but we parked our car utilizing the valet service while we went on an Amtrak train ride about two blocks down. The proximity to the train station was great we were able to park our car and walk to catch the train. It cost $45 to park your vehicle. Which I felt was a fair price since it was monitored 24/7. Will definitely be utilizing the parking again. The restrooms in the hotel or also clean in the lobby was very nice.

What a great experience. The rooms are spacious and wonderful. The staff was fantastic. I just finished co-hosting a small conference and I wish I could remember more names of staff members, but a special thanks to Kahlil for his technology assistance. The location is also perfect.

I wanted to love this hotel but I was disappointed. Beginning with location it was difficult to walk and find somewhere to eat breakfast because of the high crime neighborhood. We arrived to the hotel around 440pm and check-in is at 4pm, so we assumed the room would be clean and ready to go. Unfortunately, the room was dated in need of a makeover and it was still dirty. The carpet was stained and so was the bathroom with some red liquid (maybe wine) and the left side of the sink had coffee stains (clearly someone spilled that morning). The room is in desperate need of dusting, vacuuming, and a facelift! I requested foam pillow since I arrived because I can’t sleep on the feather pillows provided, they asked me if this was preference or allergies. Either way we didn’t receive them until asking for the 3rd time and after a manager texted us to see how our stay was going. The one thing I will say was amazing in the room was the soaker tub! We enjoyed it (after a deep cleaning lol) both night that we stayed there.

I went to revival on a Monday night to get oysters for happy hour and sonia and Adam were bartending taking care of Me and my friends. The service was amazing and their drink recommendations met our expectations. I would definitely come to revival again. They met the vibe check.

We came in for drinks over the weekend. Sonia and Jeremy were working behind the bar. Both very knowledgeable and you can tell it’s a good vibe when they are working. Sonia made a white velvet that tasted amazing. Jeremy knows a ton about bourbon and made us a boulevadier. Definitely recommend this spot.

tried to stay here but literally couldnt park. valet was backed up to the street with no staff in sight. tried self parking but there were no spots and we had luggage. called and asked for a refund on deposit and was transferred to infinite wait music for a department that was clearly closed at 9pm.

Our organization held an event today at the Kimpton Sawyer conference venue, and it was amazing!Albert and his banquet service team were absolutely impeccable with their service. Albert was incredibly warm and attentive to our needs, giving us an extra toaster when he saw that a line was forming to toast the bagels and immediately clearing our plates when we finished eating.The food were laid out beautifully and servings were replenished quickly to make sure every attendee was able to grab a plate.I'd love to return to the Kimpton Sawyer for the beautiful venue and incredible banquet service they provided to us today.Thank you, Albert!!

I have NEVER been treated so rudely in my life at a hotel. I’ve been in proper five star hotels around the world and the superiority complex experienced at this hotel is astounding. We haven’t been able to get our room serviced in the three days we’ve been here, and at this point we’re likely leaving early before our fourth day.The front desk staff was amazingly helpful, but everyone else (especially the event coordinator) has been disdainful and terrible to us.Folks, you’d be better served staying at any given roach motel than you would here.

We had a balcony room which was really nice. It looked over the freeway but still a nice view of Sacramento. There are plenty of restaurants and things to see around the area. The room had a closet that looked like a utility closet which was odd but it was fine. It was filled with everything you need without even leaving the room. We will definitely be back again.

Had a wonderful stay here for 3 nights. Service was wonderful with each person we spoke to. The room was really nice, especially if you get the one with the large tub (they provide bath salt if you request it). The fridge was nice to use (they said to just place all the drinks to the side and it's not an issue). Very spacious room and bathroom. The closet didn't have much space to hang clothes however since there's a large drawer in there taking up most of the space. Front desk was nice to get us to a higher floor since it would be louder in the weekend with a DJ playing. We were provided with a pack n play crib as well complimentary. $40 Valet with in and our privilege but Self Parking was $28 but no in and out privilege. Social Hour was great, they definitely keep you happy with all the liquors :). Oh and the pet relief area was better at the main lobby outside passed urban outfitters.
