I stayed overnight, for a company party, Jan 4th. When I booked the room, using the Gov/Mil rate, the total came out to 158.63. When I checked out of the room the next day, the 5th, the bill totaled 176.63. When I logged into my bank today, the 6th, my account showed that I was charged 206.63. The overnight parking is $18, which would account for the increase from 158 to 176. So just wondering what the the other 30 dollars was for.Upon clarification, I've raised my review until the pending charges clear.

Title: “Reno-ssance Royalty: Treated Like Kings and Queens!”I can’t say enough about the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel & Spa – what an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, we felt like VIPs. The staff was beyond welcoming and attentive to every detail, making sure our stay was not only comfortable but genuinely memorable. They went above and beyond to accommodate us, and every encounter, from the front desk to housekeeping, radiated warmth and professionalism. The amenities were fantastic too. The on-site spa was a treat, and the downtown location made exploring Reno super convenient. The rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and filled with thoughtful touches. We felt pampered the entire time – it was like staying in a luxury resort with a down-to-earth feel.Overall, I’d highly recommend the Renaissance Reno for anyone looking to feel truly taken care of while enjoying a vibrant, central location. We can’t wait to come back for another stay!

Love this place. It is right on the Truckee River. You can sit out on the patio and watch the Truckee River flow right by as you eat Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. It has a romantic ambiance in the evening.

Hotel was nice and clean. Rooms were fine. Pillows were super flat, and when I called down to see if they had any that were more firm the answer was that they're all the same. If you need anything other than a pillow that won't support your head for more than a minute bring your own. Oh also, ton's of homeless people and addicts downtown in Reno and there's low income housing everywhere.

My stay at the renaissance was amazing, close to everything we needed to do downtown. The shore for brunch is to die for. It will forever be my favorite brunch spot in Reno. Valet had great service, it was speedy and polite. James made sure I knew where I was going and helped me later on recommendations for the night.

We were evacuated from our home due to nearby forest fire. We had our baby and two dogs with us. The hotel staff was very supportive and got us taken care of quickly after a long day. They provided a discounted rate given our situation. Very much appreciate their willingness to help especially with allowing pets.

I had an excellent experience while visiting The Renaissance Hotel in Reno, NV. My entire time was amazing…The Shore restaurant and The Refuge Spa…However, I had the most exceptional service ever, with the valet service during my stay. Caleb(a hardworking, young man) was incredibly professional, courteous, and efficient. From the moment I arrived, Caleb made sure my vehicle was taken care of and returned promptly whenever I needed it. His friendly demeanor and attention to detail really stood out. I have traveled more than I want to discuss, and deal with the service industry quite often. I have never taken the time to write a review, but I could not pass up the opportunity to brag on this young man. It's clear he takes pride in his work, and it made my stay all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend the valet service, especially Caleb, at this hotel!

Our valet Bode was awesome, performed bell hop Svc including running up and down the bldg to get our key cards fixed…saved us many steps. I wasn’t so impressed with room service, and felt that we deserved to have actual coffee mugs in our room instead of the paper cups that you get at super 8. Otherwise it was a pleasant one night, truly pet friendly stay. Our puppy loved walking by the river (which is right next door).

If you like glitzy, this isn't your place. This place has an old-world feel without being stuffy or dusty - it's clean, it's welcoming, and feels like it's owned by your favorite uncle joe.The man at the front desk greets me and my family warmly, like an old friend greeting a house guest. "Ah, you're coming from Oakland. My daughter used to live there!", he says, beaming with pride. I can tell I will love this place already. As we entered our room, we noticed that the furnishings are antique, but trusty and beautiful. We made our way to the guest lounge where there's a large TV, a pool table, and an espresso machine. On the same floor is a nice but compact gym and a large pool that is kept warm year round. Out of our 4 night stay, my kids swam in that pool 3 times - its such a wonderful way to stay active in the colder December month. The location is perfect. It's central to a lot of great dining options, 3 short blocks to the "reno strip" where all the casinos are, and across the street from the Truckee River. I love it so much more than being inside the casinos. So much that in our 4 trips to Reno, we've stayed at this place 3/4 times ... and we will continue to _only_ stay at this place. Finally, nothing beats the old-world charm and a place that just feels like it's reliable and ran by lovely people.

The staff was very kind . They were so accommodating when I needed an extra room at the last minute. Great size rooms very clean. I traveled In October 2024. I like the location, quiet area next to the movie theater. Close to restaurants. They have a pool. The only thing missing is a hot tub. That’s the only reason I give a four out of five.
Definitely a different sort of timeshare experience...at least for us. Downtown Reno, high rise building clearly built in the 1970's and largely untouched since then, yet in very good shape. Better shape than many timeshare we have stayed in over the 17 years of ownership in RCI. The most disappointing aspect of the Plaza is seeing what it once must have been, but is no longer. Coffee house only open Thurs- Sun am, bar only open Fri and Sat nights. Indoor pool is very nice, but the wonderful bar at poolside is closed down andappears to not have operated for years. Sauna Room is closed down permanently. Great location to enjoy the river walk in Reno and easy access to everywhere near Reno. Would definitely trade in points to stay here again.

Great gem in downtown and close to restaurants. Very walkable. It's quiet and the beds are very comfortable and cloud like. Staff are very nice and helpful. Great views. The decor needs updated but the room is very spacious and has all the in room amenities a casino doesn't offer. I will definitely stay here again!!

This is a dated but nice hotel close to the river and an easy walk to the Row or the train station. The neighborhood was ok, but very loud. It was a weekend in Reno, but they could use an update for some better sound proofing as you could practically hear people's conversations on the street 14 floors below overnight. Any loud music or car sounded like it was basically just outside your window and it was open. The pool area was nice and there was a nice lounge area near the pool as well.

I booked this hotel for the end of March, because they’re in the guestbook rewards program. I absolutely loved the hotel. It feels very vintage with the giant check in desk, and cozy lobby. The pool was really nice and they have a billiards room. The absolute best part of the hotel however, is the lounge. They have the best cocktails, there was at least 40 to choose from; all unique, themed, and tasty!! I have never been to a hotel with a friendlier staff. The bartenders were personable, the front desk friendly, and the morning breakfast shift (she was filling in for the usual team when we were there) was the nicest lady I have ever met! She really brightened my day!Very walkable as well. Free parking garage with protected garage doors at night. A $75 dollar refundable charge is issued for a garage door opener, since the doors are closed at night. Would recommend getting this.
