This Autograph Collection hotel holds true to the Marriott standard that conserves the history with furnishings, books, art, and artifacts amid modern upscale conveniences. Kasanta told me stories about the hotel history and how she remembered this building as a child. She and Vatoria offered impeccable attention to my every question. The rooms are fairly large, tastefully decorated in my minimalist style with high beds, white twill bathrobes, and hair dryer. Gotta love the mini refrigerator and a clothes steamer. The Keurig® offers regular and decaf coffees. Love Twinings tea and camomile teas. The rooms seem to be sound proof and I love the soft pillows, and pull handles on hard ot open closet doors that hide a laptop safe and that coffee service. Walk in showers offer Malin + Goetz ® shampoo, conditioner body wash, and lotionThe bedside light is dim and you need to go to door to turn off main room light.I enjoyed 2 breakfasts at 2nd floor Kinship restaurant with all day and evening service. For breakfasts, I selected omelet with bacon, Conecuh sausage, and cheese and then avocado toast, fried eggs..Elegantly delicious.Tabitha offered personal and attentive service. Besides the elevator to this 2nd floor eatery. there is a hydraulic lift.Besides the 2 restaurants in the hotel, a few restaurants bars are just across the the street. To reach the 5th floor, rooftop Waterworks bar and restaurant, take a dedicated elevator to prevent intrusion on the guest. Indoor seating at the bar (high stools) or standard tables is good or go out on the balcony for great local views. For dinner, I chose mahi mahi bites with remoulade sauce. The oversized but not overpriced hummus plate came with soft ball sized scoops of 3 types of hummus. My favorite dinner was the generous charcuterie board with meats, cheeses, nuts, and fruit. The rooftop offers a pleasant night time look over the weekend's busy The Alley.24/7 Valet parking . There are close Wheel chair access van spots. Hotel front door is automatic. the large lobby is split into Various sitting areas with sofas and tables, a personal touch.Low height accessible light touch buttons work the elevators. The ADA accessible room has a bathtub and shower chair (apon arrival). The bed is lower for better access, and 3 grab bars. The hearing accessible room flashes light during emergency calls and to note door bell instead of soundWalking distance to restaurants, some shops, and Riverfront.
