I came here for a business training trip. The hotel was clean and central to a lot of the local restaurants and stores so I could walk around and enjoy the area on a day with reasonable weather. Lower scores in some areas for the rooms are due to things like:
- me not really liking the shower in the bathroom. High pressure direct spray is not for me, but if you like it, this hotel is great.
- mini fridge but no microwave. I brought food back to the hotel, but if I were going to eat it, it would have to be cold. I think those two things have to be paired.
- parking garage confusion. As a person who doesn't often travel, it's nice to have reassurance that I am going the right way. Here, you find out you are in the right or wrong place once you have made it to the front desk. I feel they could try adopting the method many hotels have these days, of anticipating the visitor will appreciate a quick text or email saying "what to do when you arrive" and some type of pre-checkin service. Also, there are hints at how you can tip or be charged all over the place. Even a "complimentary" bottle of water requires you to sign up for a preferred membership to get it unless you want to pay 3$ and for tipping the staff they ever so obviously move the card around the places in the room that remind you that they are there. I am a tipper, don't get me wrong, but I like to feel like I'm tipping because I visually see the effort, not the written reminder.
Over-all I was pleased with my stay, but everyone has room for improvement, and I hope these notes can help that process.
