I recently visited the black hawk brunch this last Mother’s Day and left very disappointed with my experience and my family left hungry. For the price that I paid which included mandatory gratuity, I expected better service and higher quality foodThere was no one at the host stand to greet us or seat us, someone else had to grab the host after we had been waiting for minutes. The server spilled my Mothers coffee and also my husband’s mimosa all over the table and seat and didn’t even attempt to clean anything up, bring extra napkins, or even replace the full drink that was spilled. We had to change seats and my dress got wet as well. Our coffee was cold and plates were not picked up and left stacked in the corner. Overall just a very carefree attitude which is likely due to gratuity already being promised. The food itself was called “cafeteria food” by the table sitting next to us and I agreed with them. I then knew it wasn’t just us who was disappointed by sight of the food as it was cold, dry, and just not tasty at all. They ended up getting a refund and thanked us for our input and hopefully they spent their lunch somewhere nice. This wasn’t my first time dining here, but it was for the brunch and I’m not sure if standards have gone down since my last visit but I expected more from a four star hotel.I just wanted to have a nice Mother’s Day for my mother and will never be returning.

I booked a balcony room for Mother’s Day and the front desk clerk changed my room type when I checked in. the staff acted like I did something wrong, management was very rude to where, I was uncomfortable and left the hotel and cancelled my reservation, Mothers Day was Ruined for me.

PLEASE READHopefully this is just a one off- tried calling today to get information on incidentals. And what a joke, the man on the phone greeted me cheerfully, but then it came down to the price, this is what he said, "oh yeah it's $100 at ALL Marriott properties."So I proceeded to further ask, if it was PER NIGHT to which he confirmed. My husband and I travel for work so we have a compiled lists of incidentals at 100s of properties around the country, for Hilton, IHG and Marriott.I know for a fact that it is NOT $100 per night at ALL Properties Nor is it $100 per night at only Autograph collection properties either. It's pretty difficult to trust a hotel that would blatantly lie about Marriott policy, much less speak on behalf of Marriott properties that only hold $1 for the entire stay.Do your research on hotels, because this one is okay with lying to potential customers.

I seldom write reviews as I don't want to be known as the person that has to have an opinion about everything, however I believe this establishment operates at a quality that must be recognized.I have been to this Hotel twice in the past month and each visit was extraordinary. The entire venue is well-kept and has a true air of luxury and refinement. The rooms are spacious, accommodating, and tasteful. It truly feels like a room I would find at a major resort or city.In most cases I am first greeted by Stephen at the concierge, and each time he has been considerate, cordial, and has even made suggestions to local bars and restaurants that would suit my interests and tastes. He has answered every question I thought to ask, and for that I must commend him.Additionally, in the late hours of the night I often get to speak with Dana, the night concierge. Typically I do not expect anybody to be high energy, alert, or even pleasant when dealing with issues or concerns that arise in the early hours of the morning. Yet any time I have a question or need help with something, Dana has been a blessing to deal with, understanding my needs and situations, and ensuring that I am taken care of.To Stephen, Dana, and the entire rest of the staff I was able to interact with, you continue to outdo yourselves and make this hotel memorable.I will go out of my way to stay here, and I hope to return again soon.

What a wonderful historical landmark the Blackhawk Hotel is. It was like going back in time. It was very charming, cozy and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and I slept very well. The lobby bar was very fun too. They even had a little room in the front to enjoy coffee and tea. The coffee was excellent. Thank you to the friendly staff!

Being a year-round traveler, it's always nice to check into an Autograph CollectionI Hotel. The Blackhawk Autograph Collection in Davenport, Iowa, is yet another hidden jewel, historical too. If I get a chance to be in a city that has a taste of elegance and a story to tell, that makes my stay even more special and sets this hotel apart from the others. The architecture is nicely done, the lobby, the old preserved spots in the hotel, the mail chute between the elevators, the old barber shop, the bell man antique pieces, the shoe shine, and the beautiful Golden Ballroom. Wow wow all the way wow. That's not all, there is a fantastic group of people that work there, Steve the front desk, Julie and Ruth in the restaurant BIX, Ruth gave me a mini tour, and finally Tara Bebber F&B mngr I asked her one question about the design, and she was glad to extend an invitation to give me an even grander tour to show me things I didn't see.My room is beautifully designed, i was on the 8th floor. It had another extended seating/ office area with a separate entrance door. The bed sheets and pillows were very nice and comfortable...I liked the built-in TV in the bathroom mirror, which is definitely well appreciated.I am deeply touched, with the elegance and charm of the hotel, and the amazing customer service and hospitality.I only had breakfast here at the hotel, excellent selections, my favorite was the avocado tost, arugula and poached egg...I am for sure coming back.SZak6 night stay.

My experience with Expedia and this hotel was a nightmare. We booked a hotel through Expedia we paid for a jacuzzi tub room, when we arrived the front desk said they were all sold out and getting a basic room, the only reason we were staying there was for the jacuzzi or would of went someone nicer for our anniversary. We get to the room and it smells horrible. I called Expedia and they said only way for a refund was to ask the front desk, the front desk lady said her manager was not in. I called Expedia back and they said it was up to hotel, we walk down there and they lady is gone and sign was up, we end up going to dinner and called the hotel back, a guy answered and said the lady already told us and Expedia to refund us our money, after I told him, he lying right to me and that never happen. because if that was the case we would be on our merry way and the call was on speaker and my husband heard the whole conversation with Expedia earlier. He put me on hold and said he apologized that no she never told the Expedia rep that but offering a refund but would not call Expedia back and they had their direct number, I tried to explain it was a hassle to call Expedia and its a lot of hoops to jump through. I asked if I get them to call you. Are you authorized to give the ok to refund, and he said no only the manager, I don’t know why he was even talking to me since he didn't have the authority and it was just another game, to delay us. it was getting late and it wasn't resolved, we demanded that the manager call us but it never happen. so, we ended up staying because who's to say come Monday that a refund was given and we would of booked something and lost out money on this, which ended up being a nightmare. The smell was mildew and black mold, which I had a allergic reaction to and got really sick and puked. I cleaned it up with the towels and because of that, I was charged an additional 25.00 for it. They told me I should have called them but we told them, but we did when we called to say this was the incorrect room, we said this one smell. This hotel is a scam. Just telling our story, trying to save someone else.

It was a very clean room. Very quiet and best night sleep I had my whole trip.
I got chance to stay at this hotel during my business and family trip. The hotel location is very convenient and big interior pool and atrium has lot to offer. The front desk staff is very friendly and breakfast was great as well. Room amenities are nice as well. All in all, best value for your money for sure. Highly recommend for stay while in quad city area…

The hotel was really well priced and reasonably comfortable. The hotel is pretty big with a Restaurant, pool, small arcade with a pool table for kids. The property is right on the freeway, the room I was in was loud. If you stay here request to stay on the South side. Really big parking lot, no problem for large trucks and trailers. There’s a Cracker Barrel across the road from this place, which was a plus. I’d stay here again, but only if I could get a room on the South side.

DO NOT HOST AN EVENT HERE!!! We hosted our wedding reception here back in July and it was an absolute disaster!! they had the heat on in the event room to 80 when we arrived and when we adjusted the thermostat, hotel staff came back around and turned it back up. it was so hot in the event room, we had family members leave very shortly after the wedding party arrival. the hotel staff was incredibly unhelpful and rude, refused to follow through on what we'd planned with their event planner- which left months before our wedding and we were never contacted. the only good part was the wait staff, even though there was 1 server and 1 bartender for 150 people. they were kind and on top of everything all night. we've attempted to go through corporate, called and spoke to the hotel manager, and they all refuse to give us any sort of compensation even though we spent over $3000. I will NEVER return to this awful establishment and highly recommend avoiding it. I waited to post this in hopes that they'd make things right but our calls are never returned.

I am unable to give a 5 star review. We arrived at 3pm. Check in was busy. The front desk person was working as fast as he could. No issues there. It was a busy time. We got our rooms(2) and they seemed clean. Temp was warm because fan was set to on vs auto. Easy fix. Cannot comment on the comfort of beds as we didn't use. We had our kids, so the purpose of our stay was to use the pool amenities...so we went down. The pool courtyard was cold..us adults needed pants and sweatshirts and it wasn't enough. The kids in their swim suits were very cold. There was a window open with a fan for exhaust reasons that seemed to allow a decent draft of cold air in. But never once did we feel furnace air trying to warm the air. Other guests complained as well. The restaurant attached mentioned to me the hotel had a boiler pipe issue. I get it, things happen. Maybe disclose that the heater wasn't working in that area at check in so we knew what to expect. If in the area, we would try this hotel again because of the way they handled this issue, after the complaint. We appreciated the refund. Just a bummer situation.
