I wanted to rate this hotel higher, but two key issues took away two stars for me.

1. Charging Ports: Charging my devices while traveling is a top priority, but out of the six to eight available ports, only two were functional. In most cases, my charging brick would simply fall out, making the rest useless.

2. Breakfast Quality: While the breakfast was free, it was disappointing. I had to eat a half-baked waffle with a spoon and knife since plastic forks were unavailable. Additionally, Froot Loops— something every other hotel I’ve stayed at has had, were unavailable. Maybe I’m picky, but it stood out.

That said, the hotel staff and housekeeping were exceptional. This hotel may not offer much in terms of amenities, but it does have warmth and good vibes. If you need a quick place to stay in Charlestown, WV, this place ain't half bad.

This is the first one-star Google review I’ve ever written. Good luck accommodating travelers with pets. After a 9-hour drive, I found out that you can only bring two animals per room—and if you have more, you’re required to book an additional room. I found no mention of this policy on their official website or their Expedia listing. When we asked if there was any room for negotiation, the answer was a flat “no.” Great.

Our room was clea and spacious. The bed was comfortable and good water pressure. The hot tub was great and the pool area was clean. Breakfast was typical but fresh and clean. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We definitely would recommend

Rooms are very clean, breakfast was good, water pressure in the shower was amazing. Great stay! It’s pet friendly but you wouldn’t be able to tell. I haven’t heard but one pup but I was in the hallway. Nothing from my room. I’d definitely stay again if we drive through. Pic of the room is after we slept.

This place was amazing!! I would give more than 5 stars if possible. Mike at the front desk is a very rarely genuine and helpful person that you just do not see very often anymore. He was extremely accommodating and helpful. He took time to write down a list of restaurant recommendations for us and explained each place along with their specialty. The room was really nice and clean. The rest of the staff we had contact with were all very nice as well. Breakfast was really good also. Thanks again to Mike, you are a saint and we hope to be back again in the future. The Nashville couple 😁

Purchased a room for the night for $144
My daughter saw a roach by the microwave. We notified the front staff who made a note for the manager in the morning. NOTHING ELSE WAS DONE. we went back to the room and sat down on the bed and began talking a little later as my husband was talking I noticed a bed bug coming out of in between the mattress. Notified the front. They cancelled my reservation & said money would return to my card. 6 days later they still have not returned my money. After calling them they say I was never charged. My bank account says different...

It's a pending charge to my account and the funds have not yet released.
DONT STAY IN ROOM 128 !!!

So cosmetically this hotel needs work and I would not normally give a 5* rating because of this: BUT stopping on Christmas eve with no reservation, a dog and few to no options for dinner in the area we were well welcomed... we were able to order dinner and wine at the grille, and the ADA room was perfectly equipped much better then many we have stayed at. The breakfast bar was more than adequate. The room rate and above made the cosmetic concerns less of an issue and deserves the 5* rating.

I have no idea how this hotel has such good reviews. The photos had to come right after it was built. It’s run down. The bed was clean but that’s it. There was food in the fridge from someone who stayed prior to us. The walls were gross the bathroom had mold the halls smelled like weed. None of the outside doors locked - our room door had to be pulled/slammed to click. The photos look very nice and most websites show high rating but I don’t know how. The only redeeming quality of the place was the awesome front seat service, the awesome bar tender and the fact that they had a bar so you could get drunk enough not to notice the grossness of the room / carpet / walls. I would absolutely not recommend.

We’ve stayed here in the past and had decent experiences.
Things have changed! The room had such a strong urine odor I was spraying the room with perfume to try and mask it.
Towel bars falling out of the wall.
Mold in the shower and bathroom grout was BLACK!! Toilet paper is mounted on the wall behind the toilet down at the baseboard, you practically fall trying to reach it!
Carpet is disgusting!
Pillow was hard as a rock, bring your own!
We traveled with several others who showed pictures of bugs in their rooms. 2 rooms were bad enough to be moved

Definitely would never recommend this hotel!

Am sure this hotel was amazing when it was new, well built, In house restaurant with tavern. Bed linen clean and comfortable bed. Polite friendly staff, very welcoming.
Areas for improvement:
1. Exit doors not locking, broken.
2. Disgusting furniture stains
3. Filthy stainless carpets in room
4. Foul smell in room (carpets, furniture)
Don't mind old or worn...butt crack stains, and funk from chronic neglect ugh.
