This was unfortunately not the experience I was expecting for the price you pay for these rooms. Beware of the images of the lobby and amenities. While those areas are nice, the rooms were not. The room I stayed in was not very high-end as the hotel seems to suggest from it's images. The only real highlight for me was the comfortability of the bed and the view of Lake Champlain. It is a darn shame that the architect didn't take advantage of adding balconies to the lakeside rooms. Unfortunately, it was not a great room though. The bathroom area had multiple problems. To begin with the toilet and shower shared a space that was about 10 square feet. The shower curtain had significant staining, the tub had stains and cracked ceramic, there was no fan for the shower, nor a blow dryer for your hair, and for a double queen room, there was maybe 12 inches of counter for your cosmetics. Additionally, the lack of a microwave made the fridge practically useless for any kind of leftovers. The beverage pantries were nice because there is no in room coffee maker, so plan on possibly packing a robe and slippers if you need your caffeine before getting ready for the day. I did not spend time in the hotel restaurant, but I was attending an event which was catered. Great food and drinks every time. Beware if you don't like strong coffee though! However, the coffee from Lily May's was amazing! I was a bit disappointed that the beverage pantries did not have ice as there was only an ice machine every other floor. But it was nice to have access to water, coffee, and tea still since it is not offered in your room. While this hotel has great access to the area, such as Church Street and the Spirit of Ethan Allen Dinner Cruise, it is true to Vermont, and there are quite a few hills, so take care if you are differently abled. Finally, I did not feel unsafe during my stay inside the hotel until I heard about MULTIPLE guests having a staff member enter their room at night and MULTIPLE guests that had their car broken into in the garage.
