Found the Edward on booking.com. It's a beautiful little place with more personality than the big franchises. First time in Buffalo, but I will definitely check availability if I come back through this area.

This is a small boutique hotel at Gates Circle downtown. My boyfriend surprised me with a room this past Saturday. I was familiar with the area but had no idea the hotel was there. It only have about 8 rooms total and we stayed in The Deco on the second floor west wing. The hotel doesn't have a check desk, instead they text you before check-in with a code for the main entrance and your room. This code is unique to you for your stay and makes it easy to go in and out and not have to remember a key, or even your phone! It didn't seem like the hotel was full, and although there were other cars in their parking lot, we never saw any other guests. The hotel does provide things that you may normally ask staff for, like a wine bottle opener, spare toothbrush, snacks in the room as well as in the atrium, including granola bars and popcorn which we had as a late night snack. The rooms were clean and well lit, including two lamps that you could change the bulb colors on with a remote which was fun.A nice evening away at a cute little hotel that is a converted mansion!

Would be zero stars if I could. Made a reservation 3 days before, all I got was a confirmation email, no actual itinerary. Showed up at midnight the night of (Playoff game against the Ravens) after sitting in 2 hours of traffic trying to get there, the door was locked and had a help desk # on the door, called 3 times and it went to voicemail every time. Hot garbage.

Room was spacious and quiet. Common spaces were inviting. Our girls Birthday weekend was extra special because we had the opportunity to socialize together in The Roosevelt Tea Room in the evening after our days outing. Many great restaurants and things to see only minutes away from our hotel. We will most certainly be back to The Edward Hotel the next time we visit Buffalo.

The Edward Hotel, Buffalo NY – A Gem in the Queen CityThe Edward Hotel is in a great part of Buffalo, and it’s as classy as it is comfortable. Each room has its own unique style, so whether you’re into sleek modern vibes or something cozier, there’s a room for you.The self-check-in system is super easy to use, making everything simple from the start. The staff are warm and welcoming (and big Bills fans, of course). Erin, the owner, couldn’t have been more helpful, arranging early check-in and parking so we could make it to the game on time.Whether you're in town for work, a vacation, or a Bills game, The Edward is definitely the spot.

We stayed over Christmas. It is lovely, but the Plum room temperature is icy. The heat register said 80 but there is a marble floor in both room and bathroom and the room could not keep the heat stable. In addition, it was Almost impossible to shower without getting the floor by the sink wet (no curtain or door), and the marble was never warm enough to stand on for long. The room, although beautiful, was uncomfortable. The windows were drafty at night and they surround the bed. I think the room design was a poor choice. We also stayed in the Alexander. All rugs and much warmer, shower had a door to keep in the steam. It was also beautiful but really doesn’t offer a lot for the price. I would have expected down comforters at least not a synthetic blanket; the pillows were all hard no different fills.

We just spent one night at The Edward while attending a show at Shea’s. It is a beautiful hotel in a lovely area of Buffalo. We liked that it was outside of the downtown core (Halloween weekend) while not being too far away. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. The bed was beyond comfortable and the shower in the bathroom was both spacious and gorgeous! The shared spaces were also beautiful! If we’d had more time, I would have spent some time fireside for sure.Communication from Erin was friendly and clear, and as a millennial, I loved being able to check myself in!Definitely recommended checking out TCB across the street for delicious tacos and craft beer.We will definitely stay again.

I really wanted to like this place and make it my go-to in Buffalo. It is a beautiful facility with a really nice heated swimming area, rotating bar, and well apportioned rooms. However the two most important things in my mind when selecting a hotel is your safety/security and securing a good nights rest when traveling. The Curtiss achieved the first point but it was perhaps my worst night's hotel stay ever. The first night when I arrived, the room was brutally hot, I called the front desk and asked them how to adjust the thermostat and they advised to use the control panel by the bed. Unfortunately it wasn't working and when I called they said they couldn't repair it until the next day and that night was like sleeping in an oven. When I returned the next day for work, yes the control panel was working. I left for dinner with clients and when I returned to settle in for the evening, that's when the real problems started. The lights would turn on randomly all night and when the did, the heater would kick on full blast. I did call the front desk and they sent someone up who did little more than turn them out but the problem continued all night long. Every 30 - 45 minutes all the lights would come on and wake me up......... Brutal. There are lots of good hotels in the area, and even if you want to see the rotating bar, stay at one of them because you do not want to spend the night at the curtiss. I travel 200+ nights a year and have done so for decades and this was my worst nights experience ever. Avoid this place.

5 stars for the wonderful bathroom and shower alone! Very classy vibe. Clean and plush rooms. A few signs of age here and there but just aesthetic. Didn’t use the gym or the hot tub so those aren’t factored in.

I had an awful experience at this hotel. Stayed at this location for my birthday we ate at the restaurant on location. First, the host and restaurant staff were drunk. When we were served the waiter spilled an entire cup of water on me. I ordered a salad specifically with no bacon (pork) and there was bacon on the salad. I checked in with my mom and ended up going out with some friends. I came back to the hotel to go to my room and the front desk associate gave someone who was not on my reservation a key to my room. There was a dispute in my room with the gentlemen they let in my room. I went downstairs to ask the hotel associate why he gave him a key to my room and he said he had seen me with him so he gave him a key. Did not check his ID or see if he was in my reservation. I went back upstairs to try my key and had no access. I knocked on the door to be let in my room and I couldn’t get in with this guy in my room. So I went back downstairs he said I was evicted from the hotel I said for what I didn’t even do anything you let someone in my room. When I got back upstairs the person was gone and called the police. There were 5 police who showed up they assisted me to my car. I called the location the next morning asking to speak with someone. I spoke with Conor (the owner who lives on there) he hung up in my face because he said he was not refunding me for wrongfully evicting me with a guest who wasn’t even suppose to be in my room. I left some items in my room in my prescription glasses and when I did request for my items they said nothing was in the room. I need some Answers I paid $975 for this room and he will not refund me. I was attacked in my room by a guest that was not on my reservation. Worst experience!

Great location for our Thanksgiving dinner!!My wife’s family is in Buffalo and her brother could no longer travel. So I contacted the Curtis Hotel. Emily was great with coordinating everything we needed, and the General Manager of Chez Ami Restaurant was very gracious. Our waiter Cameron was on point and handled our party of 18 like a pro! Food was great, as everyone ordered a variety of dinner options. Great location in downtown Buffalo. Loved the lobby area and our family was provided VIP valet parking. The restrooms were amazing, as each one was designed uniquely different in style. We hope to come back next year as a family tradition.

Wonderful hotel! It’s so unique - a renovated old office building with many original architectural features. The room was so modern with a touch screen to control temperature, lights and curtains- call for housekeeping or front desk, etc. The shower is massive and had lots of features and choices for water flow. The toilet also includes a bidet which is unusual for the US.Seamless check-in and the valet met us right when we pulled up. Everything was clean and inviting. The rooftop bar has great views. The one thing I would mention as a negative was how hard the pillows are! The bed is very firm as well- but my goodness, those pillows: they’re huge yet so hard.Absolutely fabulous hotel- would recommend and would come back!
