This was an incredible and memorable experience staying here. I have never felt more welcomed and pampered! The homemade cookies were to die for. 15 minute walk from downtown was perfect for travelers. They even had live music Saturday night!! Lots of fun. Can’t wait to go back.

I had the most delightful stay at 1900 Inn on Montford! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed like family. The hosts were incredibly warm and attentive, going out of their way to ensure every detail of my stay was perfect. The room was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and had every amenity I could ask for. I especially loved the cozy touches, like the plush bedding and cookies on demand.Breakfast was an absolute highlight—fresh, homemade, and absolutely delicious! The location was ideal, with stunning views and easy access to downtown Asheville. It was the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience.I can’t recommend this place enough. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a relaxing retreat, or a base to explore the area, this bed and breakfast is a gem. I’ll definitely be back!
This place is our dream getaway! We absolutely love every single thing about it! It's a perfect stay in a perfect location with an absolutely 💯 lovely family staff. We have enjoyed several rooms there, and they're all wonderful. Definitely recommend! 💞

We had the most delightful stay at the Inn! Our hosts could not have been more kind or more gracious. We stayed at the Inn for our Babymoon and could not have asked for a better experience - Willie and Shawnee even gave us a very sweet baby gift! We felt spoiled by the whole experience - our room, the Thomas Wolfe, was very spacious, super comfy, and had the most amazing bathroom. The breakfasts were delicious and then the homemade cookies that were always available were the cherry on top. The Inn was also conveniently located within walking distance to several great restaurants and it was easy to get to downtown. We look forward to returning!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn on Montford to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Shawnie and Willy helped make our stay extra special with some complimentary prosecco and chocolates in our room. We loved enjoying breakfast on the porch and the peaceful, quiet neighborhood. It's only a mile to downtown Asheville, so we walked to town for dinner one night and had a great meal at a restaurant recommended by the inn. Willy was very helpful with suggestions for hikes and things to do around town. Overall, it was a lovely weekend and a delightful experience. We hope to return again!

Could not have been happier with our stay at the Inn on Montford! They were so detailed and made sure we felt special staying on our honeymoon, from a sign in the entry way congratulating us, to a hand-written card, fresh flowers, chocolates, and a chilled bottle of champagne. The 3-course breakfast every morning was incredible, and the cookies to snack on in the afternoon were so good.It truly felt we hade traveled to another country staying in the Rosetti room, between the stone floor, steam shower, and two-person bath. Within walking distance to downtown was a huge plus, and we enjoyed exploring the Montford neighborhood. We hope to be back again soon, you don’t want to miss out on this unique, and luxurious stay!

The innkeepers, Karen and Steve, were very kind and generous to us. We really appreciated their tips of where to go eat and how to get around. As dog lovers, we were smitten with their adorable and friendly dogs who we were allowed to visit with us.

Karen and Steve were very welcoming. We enjoyed the breakfasts and the conversation around the table. Close to everything. You can walk all the way downtown--a little over a mile--or easily drive to the various areas and sites in Asheville. Great restaurant right across the street (Nine Mile). Loved sitting on the front porch with a coffee or a glass of wine.

We recently stayed at the Lion and Rose Bed and Breakfast mid week for 3 nights. If you love staying in traditional, victorian-style bed and breakfasts, you cant go wrong staying with Steve and Karen. They are fabulous hosts and were very welcoming in their home. Each breakfast served was delicious. Our room was lovely, with an assortment of books to read and the bed was extremely comfortable. We highly recommend the Lion and the Rose.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in the Craig Toms Suite at The Lion and The Rose. Karen and Steve are very friendly and accommodating hosts, quickly providing anything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The sweet treats and breakfasts were delicious and I particularly appreciated the inclusion of plenty of protein in the breakfast each morning! We would love to stay there again if we have the opportunity to return to Asheville.

Lovely stay at the Lion and Rose! Karen and Steve are wonderful hosts! They are very knowledgeable about the area and can give great recommendations for food and fun! Speaking of food, the breakfasts and treats were all very good! Rooms were comfortable and the location is perfect! We also really enjoyed talking with Karen and Steve. Great people! We will be back!!

From the moment we arrived, Karen and Steve made us feel very comfortable. They brew their own beer and my husband and I enjoyed a glass the evening of our arrival. It was delicious as was the cookies or cake Karen left outside our door every evening of our 3 day stay. The Fannie Brice room had a 4 poster bed and 2 chairs for sitting. The bathroom was small, but we expect that from an historic house such as this . Every morning at 7:30 we were welcomed with a thermos of coffee and mugs outside our bedroom door. Then a delicious breakfast was served at 9:00 in their downstairs dining room.We enjoyed walking around the historic Montford area and there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance. It’s about a mile into town, but we chose to drive and park at the visitor center for free and walk around town from there or take the very entertaining Hop On Hop Off Trolley Tour.Karen and Steve were excellent hosts. They were so helpful and friendly. We really felt as if we were staying in the home of a friend or relative. We will return!Tracy and Luke
