Our team recently traveled to Toledo, Ohio stayed at the Quality Inn Toledo. What a mistake we made.
The woman at the front desk who checked us in was very kind and helpful. Once we got to our rooms things took a turn. Room 234 smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, despite the "No Smoking" policy. We opened windows, used air freshener, and requested fresh sheets at the front desk (which were never provided). When we asked the man now at the front desk for a change of room, he said there was nothing that could be done, and that the hotel is non-smoking so this shouldn't be an issue (IT DEFINITELY WAS). Unfortunately, things got worse.
Saturday July 27th, bed bugs were discovered in some rooms. They alerted the same man at the front desk who said they would only offer a refund if bed bugs were found by the hotel staff. Pictures were taken of the bed bugs and shown to the front desk guy, and he STILL said he couldn't give a refund. Many people from our team decided to move to a different hotel to avoid getting bitten/infested with bed bugs and potentially taking them home.
Overall, we are extremely disappointed with the quality and service of this hotel. Apart from the first woman who helped us check in, all of the staff was unhelpful and unaccommodating.
We've given up on trying to get a refund because they did not live up to their word of offering a refund, despite clear evidence of bed bugs. No one should be staying at this hotel.
