Recently stayed here and would love to come back! The rooms are exactly as pictured, horse theme throughout is amazing with the unique vibe of the lobby & bars. Bed was comfy. Staff was excellent especially one of the bartenders upstairs (Dont know his name) nice young man and Jennifer at the front desk provided superior attentiveness assisting me late at night! I do wish they had a small convenience store or small breakfast on the property, but no big deal. I would stay again!

The experience itself was fantastic and we loved having a room with a tub during the freezing winter! It was also easy to walk to anything in town and the parking lot was big enough for large vehicles. The drinks at the main bar and the speakeasy were SO good and all the bartenders/mixoligists were amazing! It was an experience I'd definitely go for again, i just don't think we'd lodge here again.I was disappointed with the room. There was nowhere but the ground to put our bags. There were a few small tables, a dresser, and a TV console, but everything had stuff on it, so there was nowhere to put anything. The curtains also stunk. The AC/heater blew them open every time it ran and you'd be able to see right in our room, so I had to rig them shut. I was also very happy I brought an eye mask, because the porch lights stay on all night and the curtains are not at all blackout, so it was really bright. The last bummer was the bed. You could tell it was older because my husband and I just sank to the middle of it all weekend. I can't say we slept great because we were fighting to get out of a hole all night.

Looking for a relaxing venue for a quick drink by an outsider fire ? The bar has a wonderful outside gas fireplace to sit and sip . Juan, the bartender , made our day by letting us taste some new Fall creations he made! We were able to get a quick peek at the Speakeasy fly the front desk staff - we look forward to coming back soon.

Just celebrated our anniversary with a 4 night stay at the Maxwell Mansion and it was perfection! The rooms, the grounds, the service…..all spectacular! We had a delightful surprise when we asked about getting to breakfast in the morning and were told to take a ride in the buggy. The team will take you in the most adorable buggy if requested! The buggy was just the icing on the cake though, we loved every detail!

Had a fantastic stay in the Jane Austen room in the mansion. Very comfortable, surprisingly quiet, clean, charming, and designed well. Loved the bathroom, throwback shower, and French doors. The place as a whole was fun and relaxing, lots of little nooks to just kick back. The location is great, walking distance to the lake, beach, and surrounding shops.

I have held multiple events at Maxwell Mansion over the years. Every time I host an event, or I visit, I am blown away. To start, the ambiance and condition of the mansion itself is beautiful and well kept. I love the seasonal decor they always have, as well as the decor that is fitting to the mansion's original era. The cocktails are THE BEST in Lake Geneva. Visiting the speakeasy is a must but be ready to stay for much longer that you probably anticipated. I always get wrapped up in atmosphere and stay until close. Definitely ask for a tour of the mansion, you will not be disappointed. The staff is always so knowledgeable on the history of the property, and I am always learning something new. Maxwell Mansion is much more than a hotel or venue; it truly is an experience!

I have stayed in Lake Geneva at many different places. This was my first stay at Maxwell Mansion and I was very excited to stay here based on the review score and photos on the website. Sadly, I will not be returning. We stayed in the carriage house for 4 nights. There is no microwave or refrigerator which is surprising based on the amount of money you pay to stay here. The main light in the room does not work and the rest of the lighting is super dim. I actually had to go to my car to put my makeup on in the morning because the bathroom offers very little light and NO counter space at all. Our toilet leaked upon arrival, which they did fix. There is NO bathroom privacy as the door to the bathroom is a sliding barn door. If you are traveling with someone beware they will here everything happening while you're using the facilities. I was also not impressed with the landscaping, they clearly do not keep up the grounds as they should. The beds are also very uncomfortable, I barely slept. We also did NOT have our sign out for housekeeping and they STILL entered our room while we were not here which is a HUGE privacy issue! I feel violated that someone was in our room without notice. I still have two more nights to stay here as of the date I am writing this review and I have to say, I am not excited.

We attended a wedding at the Maxwell Mansion. What a beautiful and unique setting for a wedding! The venue is excellent, offering many rooms and outdoor space that can be utilized during the reception. The easy access to Lake Geneva made it a really fun weekend. Our room was in the "stables" and was spacious and very nicely appointed. We thought it was a really fun and unique venue for a wedding.

We arrived late Friday night and was greeted with a friendly front desk host. Upon checking in I was told we'd have to have a $300 hold on our card, which I didn't recall ever being told that or reading that. Also upon leaving you don't get that back for 7-10 days. The room was clean, clean sparkling white towels, comfy bed and pillows, the balcony view was beautiful. The only option for breakfast is a little to go 'cafe' I personally wouldn't consider it a cafe. Good coffee, but all food is packaged. They were out of, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast burritos were all the same and had bacon - which I can't eat. I asked for the Yogurt but they had no fruit or granola for it.Sunday we got up and were going to grab food and coffee at the 'cafe' and found it was closed on Sunday's and the restaurant doesn't open until 10 am ( it was 8 am) So, altho lovely place, not sure I'd go back due to lack of breakfast, coffee options. We personally don't use the coffee makers in the rooms at any hotel, not sure how clean they are. So, they have them but just not what we do . We drove a short distance to Starbucks. We went for a long relaxing weekend - not too relaxing when you struggle with breakfast choices.

I had stayed at the hotel last year and had a fantastic experience. Great room, great view, great service. This time was very different and disappointing. My room had 2 beds as requested, a view of the parking lot, no desk for working on, only one chair for sitting (even though there were 2 people on the one room) and one reading light near the chair. The hallway had lights and there was a lamp near the bed that was dim and would not help with reading. I had brought my 96 year old mom for her Bday. She is 4'8 and the beds/mattress are super tall. There was no way she could get on the bed. I asked the front desk for a stepping stool and they said to use the stool in the closet. I told them it was not a stepping stool but a luggage rack. They did nothing about it. I had to drive to Walmart to purchase a stepping stool. I paid extra for a balcony that I could not use because there were so many bugs out there. I opened the glass door to get to the screen and a bunch of bugs flew in. Had to kill them and it was not pleasant. I felt trapped in my room. No chair, no good light, no desk, no use of balcony. The cost for upgrading to a room with the Lake view was $150 dollars more (already paying $200). They had no 2 beds left with a view, so had to stay in this room. We checked out early the next morning. What a disappointment.I was so looking forward to this short get a way and so was my mom. Left upset and frustrated.

This was our first visit to Wisconsin. We made a great choice to spend 3 nights here at the Geneva Inn. We loved its location--just an 8 minute drive into town and avoiding the congestion of staying there. Lakeside views are spectacular. We did the Lake Shore walk from the hotel for about a mile and a half out to the left (clockwise on the lake) and were stunned with the beauty of the magnificent homes along the shore. Food at their restaurant in the evening was great. Since they don't have a formal breakfast service, we drove into town and had spectacular breakfasts there. You can park free in town before 9AM but need to feed their meters using a credit card or an app they recommend from 9AM on. The front desk was generous in supplying us with extra coffee K-cups to feed our habit. We left having experienced wonderful hospitality.

We recently stayed at the Geneva Inn. While the room was beautiful, we did not find it practical. There was only 1 chair in the room. There was no counterspace at all. The bathroom had the most counterspace. The bathroom was huge with a lot of wasted space. A desk, more counterspace and/or a credenza would be nicer. We wanted to make some coffee with the Keurig, only to find out the coffee mugs in the room were dirty. We opted to go downstairs and buy at the cafe. Complimentary coffee would be great!

The room was fantastic, very comfortable, spacious, view of the lake, soaking tub, all of the above exceeded expectations. The location was close without being in the center of the hubbub- which was perfect for us.We ordered the cheese and beer plate which was a bit disappointing- it felt like a perfect opportunity to feature Wisconsin cheeses but instead it looked like an after school snack. When we bought coffee in the lobby the first morning it was also… lacking. We decided to cancel our dinner reso for the on-site restaurant. So for the hotel itself we had a great experience but were not confident in the culinary offerings.

Clean and updated room, but not very functional. One chair for 2 people is not enough, especially since the bed is very high. AC / heating unit sounded like a hurricane all night long. I didn't get any sleep, but my husband was completely fine with it. The location is very nice. Right by the lake. The restaurant has a nice view, but food was just OK.
