This is a very nice place with fantastic owners. Scott makes awesome breakfasts each morning. The house is quiet and the grounds are beautiful making it a peaceful place to stay. Great location for all things in the area including downtown Traverse City, several golf courses, and several wineries.

Stayed in the “vineyard” room. I am a million-miler on Delta and have traveled extensively across North America these past 35 years. I have never stayed in a more elegant room in my travels ! What a wonderful place to stay and relax. Scott and Lori have truly created a little heaven away from home! Not only will I stay here again when in TC, but already put a deposit down for a summer respite ! Blessings to Scott & Lori for a beautiful place, wonderful food and top-shelf hospitality !

We made a reservation for A Breath of Heaven months ago when we knew we wanted to take a trip to Traverse City and stay at a bed and breakfast. We ended up getting engaged the day of our arrival and our stay couldn't have been more wonderful for a celebratory weekend. Scott and Laurie are the most gracious hosts and the house is exquisite. You're just outside of town enough that there is a total sense of peace, but close enough that you're not driving ages to get anywhere. Scott made the most delicious breakfasts that kept us full until dinner. He also had the greatest recommendations for winery and food stops. The room we stayed in had the jacuzzi tub and large shower. We felt like we were in a home away from home. Scott and Laurie are very personable and we chatted for quite some time during and even after breakfast. We will most definitely be making more visits to A Breath of Heaven.

"A Breath of Heaven B & B" is a very delightful and cozy large cabin, located on 11 beautiful country acres 4 miles from Traverse City. We spent four relaxing nights there while visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Leelanau wineries in early August. Outstanding location for visiting these areas, plus, extremely easy access to Traverse City. Our room was rustic but very comfortable and complete with a nice private bathroom. Our host Scott was a wonderful host and an excellent cook. In fact my wife stated that one of his breakfasts was the best she had ever ate! Scott was a wealth of information on the area. His expertise on the many wineries lead us to the perfect winery for us - we bought a case of wine there. We would definitely stay at "A Breath of Heaven" again!

A peaceful, quiet, charming log cabin bed and breakfast located just outside of Traverse City. Only a 10-minute drive to town. The owner, Scott, is an amazing host and phenomenal chef. Our breakfasts were to die for and the conversation wonderful. He has plenty of great recommendations and you can tell he really loves what he does. The bed was super comfy and the room was very clean and spacious. Make sure not to make the same mistake we did of only staying two nights. We wish we would have booked three. So much to see and do. Will definitely be returning.

My husband, 18 month old and I stayed here for three nights this past week and it was great! We stayed on a first floor suite with a little patio overlooking the bay. I wish we were there at a warmer time of year because it looked like they had great amenities for their little beach area. Laura, the woman who makes the continental breakfast every morning, was so sweet. She was always so positive. It was a great way to start off each day. The breakfast was delicious as well!

We booked the northpoint suite because we were going out of season and the price was reasonable. There is a $15 a night resort fee + taxes. This is not a resort and it's ok for off season, but i would not pay an extra $30 + a night for summer time. I'll stay somewhere else . The breakfast is great and Laura in the breakfast room is an asset! Very pleasant! Other then the resort fee the only other complaint i have is that ALL hotels seem to find the cheapest, nastiest coffee they can in the room. I would love to have hotels with Keurigs so i could bring coffee that i like. The room was great, the view was great and the staff was great.

I would like to start by saying that the hotel itself is great! However, the front desk employee that we dealt with ( her name is Ellen) is beyond unprofessional and extremely rude. Management, rethink that employee. I am never one to write a bad review about someone but we were so taken back by her attitude that I had to.

We loved our room. The hotel is in a great location. Breakfast was good. Every staff member we encountered was phenomenal! Great service all around. This is a solid hotel and we really enjoyed our visit. The beach frontage was a major plus!

This hotel is a great place to stay! Very clean and cozy. The room was exactly as described and exceeded expectations. Housekeeping does a great job here. The pool was warm and the hot tub was even warmer of course!Breakfast in the morning was good. Pancakes were my favorite! The breakfast attendant was very friendly and she seemed to love her job.We visited during March so we got a cheaper rate than their summer rate.I recommend checking this place out!

We love the Cherry Tree Inn and we’ve returned every year for 15+ years now. However, we noticed changes in the last couple of years with new ownership. They now charge a destination resort fee of $15/day. Although we love the hotel and it is very nice, it definitely is not a resort; it is a very nice motel/hotel, but not a resort. I can understand if the Grand Traverse Resort charges that fee, but not this hotel. A resort has activities such as a spa, golf, etc. on site. This is not a resort. Particularly because the website describes the amenities covered by this fee, and we used to have the same exact amenities without the fee before (free parking, pool, wi-fi, breakfast buffet, coffee, shuttle, private beach). All these listed amenities used to be free just a couple of years ago, obviously this is just an excuse to charge more. Also, we feel the quality has decreased. There used to be bacon a few days a week in the past for breakfast, now they don’t offer it anymore (when asked, it is because of its price) Much cheaper hotels across the street offer bacon everyday! (We did want to recognize Laura, the breakfast chef, whose hospitality and customer service and cooking skills are wonderful. She makes every morning better just with her presence). With charging a destination fee, can't you at least offer bacon a couple days a week in your hot breakfast? We are paying more for less now and we are disappointed. You also stopped the rewards program where you’d get a $50 gift card for every 10 nights stay. With the higher price, we are unfortunately not sure if we will be able to keep vacationing at what it used to be our favorite Traverse City hotel.

We enjoyed a top floor Jacuzzi tub room with a balcony and fireplace. Off season but the price was fair. Ellen and Laura were top shelf staff and made our stay more enjoyable. They do charge a $15 resort fee which makes their online advertised price a little deceiving but it is comparable to other stays in the area. We will definitely stay there again. Room was well cleaned and the breakfast was a nice continental breakfast with hot tasty protein options.
