Ventana Canyon is one of the best hotels I have ever visited. The design of the resort is amazing, the views are unbelievably beautiful, the rooms are well appointed and comfortable and the staff are all smiling and friendly. We had a short stay so we were only able to have breakfast at the hotel, but the food was delicious.

Stayed for a week starting on New Year's eve. Resort is beautiful and well-maintained. Location is spectacular, nestled right at the bade of the Santa Catalina mountains.. Maid service was excellent.Service at the lounge on New Year's eve was chaotic. That was the only negative aspect of an otherwise first-class stay. Will definitely book another stay.

Google Review:We recently stayed at this resort and found it to be a mix of beautiful moments and missed opportunities. The property has incredible potential, and we’re already considering returning in a few months with our children, as it seems like a fantastic place for families. What We Loved:• Gorgeous Views: The scenery is absolutely stunning and creates such a peaceful, relaxing environment.• Comfortable Rooms: The rooms were well-designed, cozy, and made for a great retreat after a long day.• Family Appeal: We noticed plenty of activities and amenities that would be perfect for kids, which has us excited to bring our own next time.• Memorable Activities: The guided hike was a highlight. It was a fun, informative hour spent learning about the local rocks, trees, and wildlife while enjoying breathtaking views.• Friendly Staff: The staff were kind and genuinely tried to help, even when things didn’t go smoothly. For example, our breakfast waitress was thoughtful enough to let me know their lattes were decaf, which I really appreciated.• Affordable Luxury: Compared to other fine resorts we’ve stayed at, this one is much more affordable, making it a great option for a getaway without breaking the bank.Areas to Improve:• Dining Experience: Breakfast service was inconsistent. While the waitress was kind, she didn’t check on us much, and we never got coffee refills. At the omelet bar, they ran out of bacon and didn’t replenish it, so I had to grab some from another station and break it up myself. Unfortunately, there was also a bug in my omelet, which seemed to have come from the mushrooms.• Room Amenities: The coffee creamers in the room were old and chunky. Additionally, the Amex amenity promised with our stay wasn’t in the room when we arrived, and despite reminding the staff twice, it was never delivered.• Service Gaps: While the staff were friendly, there were moments where professionalism was lacking, like seeing housekeepers on their phones in the hallways.• Follow-Through: Some operational details could use tightening. For example, the resort did waive our resort fee at the end of our stay to make up for the missing Amex amenity, which was appreciated—but it would have been better if it had been resolved earlier.Final Thoughts:This resort has so much potential to be truly exceptional. The location is stunning, the rooms are inviting, and there are clear efforts to create a great guest experience. While there are areas for improvement, it’s evident that the staff care and are trying their best. We’re seriously considering returning with our kids and give the property another chance to shine. For now, we encourage others to visit, enjoy the breathtaking views, and support the resort as it works to address some of these minor but important details. This place is a hidden gem, and we’re optimistic about its future!

We love this resort. Everyone was so nice and pleasant all around. Great location. Clean room with white and clean towels. Great bath products and their hair dryer works so well, I didn't have to bring out my own hair dryer (I am particular about the hair dryer, it may not be your thing, so just enjoy the one that comes with the room).

I recently stayed at Loews Resort for a conference and at every turn their staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. I travel with my service dog often and I have never been met with as much kindness and ease of access as I was at this resort. The pet meals made feeding him our normal partial raw meals so easy and the water bowl upon arrival was such a simple and yet convenient gesture. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed wandering them between sessions. In every way the stay was exceptional and I hope to stay with there again in the future.

Nice place, great ranch, but it comes at a price. 2 days on the ranch with a ride through the cactus landscape, a dream. A lot of horses, think about a hundred. Pure relaxation... it would be appropriate to reduce the price a bit.

Everything at Tanque Verde Ranch was amazing, the customer service is a 10 the installations are amazing, food was great and there are so many activities for the whole family. We had an amazing time horseback riding and at the spa. Special shoutout to Leticia for being an amazing instructor and going above and beyond in her lessons! This place is truly an amazing place to get in touch with nature and relax. We hope to be back very soon!

We went for lunch. Our server was very nice but overall service was very slow. We waited to he seated with a reservation even thought it was almost empty. We had to ask that the salad bar refill the greens. One entree had to be remade because it was done incorrectly the first time. There were up charges for the salad bar without warning. Before the guests were done many of the kitchen staff were eating their meal in the dining room. The menu was very limited and uninspiring. Overall a disappointing first time experience so we don't plan to return.

Really fine experience and good food. Everyone was in holiday spirits and dressed for the occasion. The food was great. My wife and I thought the prime rib was way rare but the turkey was spectacular. Desserts were a little sparse but all in all a nice meal.

We just returned from an outstanding stay at Tanque Verde and I can't find enough good things to say about it! We traveled with multiple generations and everyone had a wonderful time, enjoying riding, hiking, biking, yoga, kids club, and on and on. The accommodations and ranch facilities did not disappoint. Everyone in our group agreed that the food was excellent as well. We appreciated the friendliness of staff/wranglers and there was a refreshing camaraderie among guests that quickly developed. The ranch's location on the edge of the Saguaro National Park provided breathtaking views. We thought this was a "cross it off our bucket list" kind of trip, but we already can't wait to return.
