There is NO Hot Tub…please be aware as you read the reviews. Nice hotel, NO Hot tub and probably need more housekeepers.

Can't recommend this place is you're here to vacation. Nothing is free, pretty sure the 2 bottles of water they put in your room cost money because there is no indication they don't. Elevator was out the second day, phone system is down, parking lot spacing is awful, good luck getting out of your car. Ramp to lower parking area is very steep and may scrape the bottom of your car.

No included continental breakfast. Find some place better. Bathroom door is a sliding door that doesn't provide the best privacy. Shower is small.

We stayed here again, big mistake. The thermostat I'm pretty sure did not affect the AC, it was warm and muggy in our room, and the temperature kept rising even though we had the ac set to 68 and it was on. I called the desk and asked for a fan, and was brought a broken fan that didn't work at all. Why bother? The toilet lid was broken, there were towels from the previous guest on the floor, the sink and shower water was weak and didn't drain properly. And the sound proofing of the rooms was non existent, we could hear kids running down the hall while the door was closed. Parking spaces are extremely narrow as well.

Had a great experience with Emily assisting me with checking in early upon arrival and again at departure. Very pleasant and charming.
Room was clean and exactly as described. Della was always a smiling face in the lobby.
Housekeeping staff friendly in passing in the halls. Everyone is smiling and helpful during my hotel walks in and out the room.

Nice hotel. We came in for a festival with our teen boys. The location is walking distance to so many restaurants, pubs, the water, parks, theaters. Other pros: clean, great service, pool area is well taken care of and nice outdoor deck attached to pool area.
Just a few tips: we stayed in a partial lakeview room on the 6th floor which faces a street with entertainment venues. There was a lot of motorcycle revving going on through the night that woke us up. I think this is just due to the location of the room AND it being a weekend. The beds were comfy, but drawers to store clothing was very minimum- one drawer for the room.

The restaurant on site was great and had a breakfast buffet. There is not a complimentary breakfast area or complimentary coffee outside of your room. There is a Starbucks on site. We saw a lot of families staying here, business men and women. We had a great stay and will stay again.

My family stayed here last night and we were incredibly pleased with our entire stay. Our double queen room was spacious and very clean. Beds were comfortable and extra pillows were an added bonus. The pool area was very clean as well with a pretty patio area outside for sunbathing. The pool water was perfect temperature and the room was beautifully warm and humid. Front desk staff was fast, kind and welcoming.

Overall, I was very impressed. We came right before biker week for a conference. The food at the hotel was particularly good during the conference. I was quite surprised. The hotel is very well maintained and not too noisy. Cute little walkable downtown with some restaurants. The description was a bit misleading. I thought that it was actually on the water. It is not. The beach is not walkable from this hotel. Knowing that I would still stay here again, absolutely.

I was in town for a hockey tournament and absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. The room was extremely clean and spacious. It actually smelled clean when I walked in. The beds were extremely comfortable to where I slept like a rock. The shower was amazing with great water pressure. The staff was very friendly and kind. I felt good knowing my car was safe in the private parking deck around back as well. One of the best hotel stays ever. I will be back any chance I get!

1. Booking a room is unpleasant. Press "2" for reservations takes you to a third party where English is not their first language. I was just calling for prices, but the lady kept trying to sell and sell me a "Choice hotel" until I literally had to HANG UP on her.
So then when I called to book, I pressed the number for front desk. Then I understood why other reviews say front desk staff is rude! It was clear making a reservation was NOT what they wanted to do for me. And they charge $20 more than the 3rd party charged me.

2. Rooms was humid in evening. Sheets had a "wet" feeling.

3. No free breakfast, no free coffee. TV had about 6 channels and were small. Blankets were lumpy.

Positives:
1. Rooms were clean!! Room service came in on our second day and did a great job!

2. Great view of marina and lake Muskegon. Pay the extra $20 for the view!!

3. Nice restaurants located on site.

4. Hallways and rooms were quiet, nice sound-proofing.

Overall, we don't travel to Muskegon much, so I dont know if I would book again because if the price.
I prefer a clean Holiday Inn with better amenities.

I was in the Muskegon area in the fall of 2022, but this hotel was sold out. This time around, in July of 2023, the hotel was finally available. So, I had the chance to give it a try, and I was excited because it was the top rated hotel in the area. Unfortunately, after staying here for a night, I am stunned that the Shoreline Inn is the number one rated place in Muskegon. There were cleanliness concerns that I had, the facilities were lacking, but the night sleep was alright.

First, the cleanliness. In my opinion, this is where the Shoreline Inn falls short the most. There were stains on the carpet, and it looks like the carpet has not been changed for years. Also, the finishing on the sink and bathtub in the bathroom was either cracking or had mold. The ceiling tiles in the room also had mold, and overall, everything was extremely dusty, especially the air intake and vents. Feel free to see my attached pictures for specifics on what this looked like. On a brighter note, there were no bed bugs.
My Rating for this Category: 2/5

Next, the facilities. The Shoreline Inn is a conference center, so there are some upgrades with that compared to a normal hotel. So, obviously, there is a conference center but also an onsite restaurant. However, it was closed during my stay. Additionally, there is an indoor pool, outdoor pool, and fitness center. The fitness center is extremely small. For facilities in the room, there was only one USB port in the entire room, and it did not even work. For it being 2023 as of this review, that is simply not acceptable. The toilet in our room had an extremely weak flush, and you have to press and hold the flusher for a long period of time for the toilet to actually flush. In general, all of the room facilities are extremely outdated.
My Rating for this Category: 2/5

Finally, the night sleep. For my experience, the pillows in the room sank in quite a bit, so there was not a lot of head support. Also, the beds did have a pretty substantial creaking issue. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable, and I did get a half-way decent night of sleep. The room temperature did not have major issues getting down to the cooler temperature that I enjoy, so there was no overheating.
My Rating for this Category: 3/5

Another thing that I want to mention is a potential lack of security and professionalism from the staff. When I was coming in from a day out in Muskegon, we noticed the security guard in the front breezeway standing outside, smoking, and cursing on the phone in front of guests coming back into the hotel. Clearly keeping the hotel secure was not on his mind, and that could pose a huge safety concern. I would not say this is professional at all.

Like I said before, I am stunned that the Shoreline Inn & Conference Center is the number one rated place in all of Muskegon. There are so many problems that add up, some more severe than others, which created a poor stay. There are cleanliness concerns, outdated and small facilities, and an alright night sleep. I cannot say that I would recommend the Shoreline Inn to people traveling through the Muskegon area with all that I experienced.

Situated on the water over looking a marina, the location is fabulous. Sadly, the entire property looks tired and the rooms appear to have skipped the updating that was due twenty years ago. In addition to being dated, many things in the room are in various states of disrepair. While the housekeeping staff was very kind, the front desk needs to work on their people skills.

We spent a night during our tour of Michigan 2 weeks ago. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Restaurant on the water behind was wonderful. My only complaint was the Heating/cooling system. It kept the room plenty cool considering how hot it was outside but man was it loud. To top it off, it kicked on every 15 minutes and was as loud as running a vacuum cleaner in the room. Not a very restful sleep with this thing waking you up all night.

Quick one night stay and it did the job. The rooms and hallways all seemed very outdated/dark and not very welcoming. Staff was friendly and it was clean for the most part. For the price, it would be nice to have a better view or breakfast offered. We did the suite and it had a tiny TV by the bed so had to watch TV from the bed vs. The chairs in there. The fireplace was part of our room deal but didn't work. We got a view of the parking lot and buildings for paying over $200 for a suite room.

Awesome hotel. Such a cool building. Obviously its not the newest hotel, but it's kept up nicely and it's clean. The staff is excellent. The location is excellent. If you're looking for a hotel in the area, I would highly recommend this one.

My room was spectacular, the view , the unexpected whirl pool bathtub. And spotless clean. Very spacious.
The bar/ restaurant is equally nice. I'll give a shout out to Skyler!! So kind and genuine. I loved talking with him over a mimosa in the morning. He is a true gem 💎
