Absolutely beautiful high end hotel. All staff were so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very large and have lots of extra seating options in the way of chairs and ottoman. Large spacious bathroom with large counter.if i could change one thing it would be to have a self-assessment parking option on property. Not a big fan of valet parking. Otherwise I would 100% stay there again.

I’ve stayed at a lot of 5-star hotels but the Delamar outpeforms them all. Perfect room - variation tailored to this location and consistent with the brand. Room is the best design and has everything you might need - they leave you wanting for nothing. Service is above 5-star. Free breakfast is no joke. On site flower shop so convenient. Extra Bonus points for comic book / pulp magazine art on the wall.

Our weekend stay at the Delemar was amazing. The rooms are beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. The restaurant is outstanding. We are there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the food was excellent. The hotel and restaurant staff are five star all the way. Highly recommend this hotel and its restaurant.

Review from a brides perspective, if you’re looking for a wedding venue for your special day:

I honestly don’t even know where to begin… words truly don’t do justice to the gratitude I feel for the entire staff at the Delamar West Hartford. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I knew this was where my husband and I were going to get married. Yes, the hotel is absolutely stunning, modern, elegant, and perfectly located but that was just the beginning of what made our experience so unforgettable.

The staff is what truly sets this venue apart. From the day we booked until well after the wedding, we felt cared for every single step of the way. A very special shoutout to Erin, who was a true gem throughout our engagement. I asked a million little questions, and she never once made me feel like any of them were silly. She was always warm, responsive, and greeted us like family every time we visited. Her kindness and attentiveness made us feel so special.

And then there’s Debbie — what an absolute star. I didn’t meet her until our tasting a month or two before the wedding, but she quickly became one of the most essential people during our wedding weekend. Debbie handled everything with such care and professionalism, all while making us feel like we had another trusted family member by our side. She anticipated our needs, shielded us from any stress, and made sure we could truly enjoy every moment.

Also, a huge thank you to the chef and culinary team, the food was absolutely phenomenal. It’s been weeks, and our guests still can’t stop talking about how delicious everything was.

The Delamar made our wedding weekend feel like a dream, and I will forever be grateful for the love and care they poured into every detail. If you’re considering them for your wedding or any special event… do it. It was, hands down, the best decision we made.

At the Delamar for a fantastic wedding June 28th and what an awesome place!
Everything was perfect from the outdoor ceremony to the Sunday morning Brunch! Every employee was professional and courteous!!! Especially the bartenders at the Hotel Bar!! I don’t wait in line for free drinks anywhere, so I would walk back to the hotel bar and when they noticed me they had my drinks ready for me!!!!!🙏 Outstanding service!!! Very much appreciated to the crew!!!! Of course we went to the bar after the wedding also!!!
The only downfall……. No Bloody Mary’s Sunday morning for the wedding crowd that stayed over for Brunch till 11am!!!!😱. But we survived!!!

Fantastic rooms. I usually don't sleep well in hotel rooms but the bed is incredibly comfortable and I slept the night through. The barely noticeable hum of the AC was just enough white noise. Nice size bathroom with nice amenities. Great service including an evening turndown. Parking is valet only. Free hot breakfast is available. The restaurant in the hotel itself is also amazing, although expect to spend $50+ per person. Location is walkable to all the amenities of West Hartford. Looking forward to staying there again.

Gorgeous room but too cold, as was the Bushnell Theater, after 2 most of relentless heat waves air conditioning was overkill in this lovely September-like day. Fortunately I packed thermal wear, just in case.

The Goodwin is the perfect location for getting ready for a Downtown Hartford wedding! I'm a wedding photographer and had the pleasure of photographing someone get ready here prior to their wedding right down the street (at The Society Room). I parked in the nearby garage and had an easy time making my way into the hotel and up to their area.

The Goodwin is beautiful and convenient for weddings. Highly recommended!

Update: after escalating the issue to corporate. I was compensated for the lost iPad.

I stayed here for a friend’s wedding. My stay itself was fine. It was after the stay that problems arose.

I left my iPad in the room (confirmed by find my phone data). I noticed two weeks later and called the hotel. The front desk attendant knew immediately what I was talking about and said “oh the white iPad? Yes we have that. It’s in the manager’s office. Call back tomorrow once she’s in and we can arrange how you can retrieve it.” I then emailed them the next day because I was traveling internationally. They told me they could use the credit card on file and mail it to me. Days go by and I hear nothing. I follow up and crickets. Eventually I call the hotel and the staff is now saying they know nothing about the iPad. There is a new manager who tells me that her staff now “isn’t sure they saw it.” The whole thing is incredibly strange and suspicious. And I was turned off by the lack of customer service and apology. If this were a service forward hotel, they would have done something to amend their error, but all I got was « we don’t refund for missing items » over and over again. No acknowledgment of the wrong done by the staff. Even if they didn’t have the iPad, the fact that I was jerked around deserves some consolation. All I can say is: very poor service! And make sure you don’t leave anything behind…

We stayed here for one night during a mother-daughter road trip through New England. We arrived around 3:00 PM and were surprised that there were no bellmen or valet attendants in sight. It wasn’t a major issue, as we were able to manage our own luggage, but assistance would have been appreciated—especially with four women traveling together. Interestingly, when I returned the luggage cart, several bellmen and valet staff suddenly appeared.

We had requested that our two rooms be on the same floor, but were told the hotel was sold out. However, during our stay, we only saw a few other guests, so it was hard to believe they couldn’t accommodate such a simple request.

Be aware that the hotel bar and restaurant are only open Tuesday through Saturday. There are other dining options nearby, but we didn’t feel comfortable walking far due to the number of unhoused individuals on nearly every corner.

We arrived on a Sunday, and the area felt very quiet—almost like a ghost town. While this isn’t the hotel’s fault, it’s something to consider if you’re looking for a more active atmosphere.

There’s no complimentary water or coffee. They will deliver a French press to your room, but it comes with an added fee. Also, the only ice machine is located on the third floor, which is a bit inconvenient.

On a positive note, the guest rooms were lovely—clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Overall, our expectations were just higher based on the hotel’s online presentation.

Cute boutique hotel in downtown Hartford. Room was small, but very well appointed. I encountered very little staff, and had to find someone to check me in. Would like to have had coffee in the room or even the option of ordering coffee to the room. I believe we were supposed to have tea, but no was provided. But those are minor complaints. Comfortable bed, robes provided and nice furnishing were appreciated.
