Reviews for Atlanta Hotels with Hot Tub in Room
Thanks also to Eric in the club lounge who generously got us a glass of bubbles shortly after the evening reception had ended!
Dining at The Americano was a culinary experience in itself—modern, flavorful, and memorable. And the location? Unbeatable. Steps from the best shopping, dining, and cultural attractions that Buckhead has to offer.
Whether you’re visiting for business or pleasure, the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta offers world-class luxury with a personal touch. I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended!
UPDATE: the water began to run black - 15 min later it began working normally again. some of the lamps in the room do not work though.. just overall they are not paying attention here
Also a big thanks to Calvin from in-room dining for being so hospitable and kind over the phone!
Upon check in, the desk agent was extremely rude and unprofessional to greet guests. It was evident she did not want to be there nor be of help. Upon room arrival, I had filled the tub and attempted to get in, come to find out our room does not have any warm water, in shower or in bath tub (11pm issue). Following day, made house keeping and front desk aware, went to breakfast (another epic fail, sent back food due to incorrect items and sodium levels). Went back to room to find out hot water issue still not resolved. We were late for all of our appointments, and had to switch rooms finally as we did not have another choice. Lastly, I made a desk agent aware of what was going on- and his remedy was to offer me "20,000 IHG points", I responded with, I am not sure what that means, nor is it relevant to me. In conclusion, I would not stay there- the hotel was not accommodating, nor did it feel like a five-star property. The best part of the hotel was the art work in and around the property.
They ignored all my requests for the room, but I guess when you have a third party managing these things this is what happens. They did acknowledge they had not honored my requests, as they are in my profile. Their solution was to make me wait in the lobby with my bags while they found me a new room and "had housekeeping make sure it was correct." It was after check in time, and the second room did meet the request but it was actually in shabbier condition than the first room. It also did have a working phone, but no reason for that, as know not to call the front desk as they will probably find a worse room.
The public areas in the hotel are nice, updated and inviting. Rooms on the other hand are not, dated with lots of issues. Can't imagine they did any renovating to the rooms since it was a Westin, unless of course they chose to make the rooms look like a 1980s Westin, and if that was the plan then they succeeded.
Staff is bad, or untrained, almost as if they have never worked in a hotel until the day you ask them a question. Or they are aware of just how bad the management is and are powerless to get any of the multiple problems addressed.
Speaking of management, been trying to speak with the GM as opposed to speaking to him publicly in this forum. However he has ignored messages from me on his voice mail, as well as requests to the front desk for him to contact me.
If you want to stay in this area in Atlanta, Marriott has a property about a block away that is exponentially better both in quality of rooms and service. Avoid the Starling, Hilton should be ashamed their name is attached to it.
Negatives: everything is overpriced/ paid. Paid parking at $75 a day, even drinking water is paid at $2 per 200ml bottle. The bathroom faucet literally came off in my hand. Staff is super rude especially the paid valets/bouncers at the front door. They will not let you even unload the luggage at the front door if you are not paying them the $75 for parking. Will rudely push you out from the hotel lobby towards another paid parking/the busy road outside with no street parking. I had to pay another parking slot next to the hotel $6 for 20 minutes to just unload my luggage and check-in. Such is the state of affairs at this scam hotel
I had high hopes for The Starling, especially with its branding as a luxury boutique hotel with a bird-themed aesthetic. The design concept—birdcages, eclectic lighting, and modern lounge decor—definitely caught my attention and was what initially drew me in. The lounge is by far the highlight of the property: stylish, moody, and perfect for a cocktail or two. But overall, I left feeling underwhelmed, especially given the premium price point.
Let’s start with the good:
• Valet service was top-notch. Shoutout to Edy and his team-absolute gems. Friendly, conversational, and genuinely helpful. If I could’ve snuck Edy home in my suitcase, I would’ve (but something tells me his wife wouldn’t be too thrilled—haha).
• Housekeeping was wonderful. Fresh towels daily, tidied room, and respectful timing. They weren’t pushy about checkout and worked around our schedule seamlessly. That was truly appreciated.
• Room service available 24/7 was a great perk, and the onsite spa is a nice touch for those wanting a bit of pampering without leaving the building.
But unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t quite match the “luxury” label:
• The pool was a major disappointment. Cold, murky, and littered with bugs, hair ties, and debris. It felt more like a forgotten motel pool than a high-end amenity. On a chilly day, a heated pool would’ve made a huge difference.
• The sliding bathroom door fell off. Yes—actually came off the track. Not ideal.
• The location is hit-or-miss. While you’re close to Piedmont Park and some walkable restaurants, the surrounding area is under construction and lacks charm. Also, parking is valet-only at a steep $75/night (plus tips), so factor that into your budget.
• The weekend vibe changes dramatically. What starts as a chic bar experience turns into more of a nightclub scene after hours. If you’re into that, great. If not, it can feel a bit chaotic and even uncomfortable. At times, it seemed like people were trying to sneak into the hotel post-club, which didn’t exactly scream “exclusive” or “luxury.”
We did spot a couple of celebrities in the building, which was fun, and the view from the room was beautiful—especially with all the trees surrounding the area. But ultimately, while The Starling has potential and some lovely staff members, it just didn’t live up to the luxury promise.
Would I stay again? Honestly, no. I’d opt for a quieter, more refined location outside of downtown next time.
Still, thanks to Edy for making the stay memorable—and no worries, I promise I didn’t actually try to pack you.
Upon check-in, I inquired about an upgrade and was placed on the 10th floor, right by the elevator. While convenient, it quickly became apparent that my room was far from acceptable. The door did not shut properly. To make matters worse, I found rust and mold present in the room, which is simply unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber.
As if this weren't bad enough, the following day the lobby flooded, adding to the chaos and disappointment of my stay. It's surprising that Hilton considers this hotel part of their Curio Collection, as it does not live up to the high standards one would expect.
In summary, while the hotel may be visually appealing, the state of the rooms leaves much to be desired. I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made.
The benefits that come with being a Gold member, like room upgrades and early check-in, were not offered. I had to remind the front desk about my membership level, and even then, they acted like they were doing me a favor by simply acknowledging it. To make matters worse, my requests for simple things like extra towels or a late check-out were either ignored or met with attitude.
On top of the poor service, the parking situation is ridiculous. The hotel charges $70 per day for parking, which is outrageous considering there is a parking facility literally 10 steps away that charges only $30 per day. To add insult to injury, I was charged for two days of valet service when I only used it once.
As if all this wasn’t bad enough, I encountered a serious hygiene issue. When I ordered drinks in the lobby, I found small roaches in the cups. This is absolutely unacceptable and a clear indication of poor maintenance and cleanliness.
Given these experiences, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel, especially if you value good customer service, fair pricing, and basic cleanliness. There are plenty of other hotels where your loyalty is appreciated, the service is top-notch, and you won’t have to worry about being overcharged or encountering unsanitary conditions. I recommend choosing the W hotel, where the staff is friendly, the service is excellent, and the environment is clean and welcoming.
