This Mariott location advertises there is a spa but the spa is permanently closed. They did not take down any of their signage to reflect this and they have not put a sign on the spa door either. I had to ask the front desk and they said the spa has been closed for 5 years. They also say the pool is heated but it's freezing cold. They do have a hot tub though, which is nice. No microwaves in the rooms so I had to go to the lobby twice a day to warm up my food and the microwave there is dirty. The fridge in the room is smaller than a dorm room fridge so prepare for that. With all these issues, $300 is pretty steep.

The lobby is very nice, the staff at the front desk and bar are friendly, and the riverfront location is good. However our room was odd, felt like a lower quality Marriott room attached to a higher end Marriott lobby. We had a corner king and the view over the river was nice. But when you walk into the room you look straight ahead into the bathroom and straight to the toilet. Who wants the first thing they see in walking into a spacious, higher end room to be the toilet? And the bathroom was strange, large and all white: white walls, white counter, white floors, white shower: no decor, no contrasting colors, no artwork. Felt completely undesigned and very cheap. In contrast the room was dark: dark grey walls, dark wood floor, dark grey sofa. Bottom line, the room was not welcoming. Did not fit with my expectations for a flagship branded Marriott property. Also in the morning we were woken up to the vacuum being run in the hallway. Glad we were only there one night.

Clearly not a well kept Marriott but when it opened I’m sure it was nice. Rooms are fine but not as well kept as I would expect for a waterfront Marriott. Gym was nice though the smith machine was broken but they didn’t label it as such. Easy access to downtown Morgantown which is nice. Not free parking which is surprising given the location. I’m guessing this is one of the nicer hotels in the area.

On our way to Kentucky, we stopped at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place and were pleasantly surprised. The facilities were modern and spotless, with a well-designed room layout and a top-notch gym. But what truly made the experience memorable was the exceptional friendliness and attentiveness of the staff.

After checking out, I realized I had left my wireless EarPods on the floor by the bed. I called the hotel a few days later to ask if they’d been found. They said they’d look into it. On our return trip from Kentucky, we stayed there again. As I was checking in, a staff member greeted me and said, “We have something for you!” He returned moments later with my EarPods in hand—without me even mentioning them. I was genuinely impressed.

The next morning, another staff member at the front desk asked, “Did you get your EarPods back?” I was blown away by their attention to detail and thoughtfulness. This level of service makes it hard to consider staying anywhere else when passing through Morgantown.

If I could suggest anything to make an already great place even better, it would be to add an EV charger and expand the plant-based menu options.

Absolutely stunning hotel - lobby and rooms. Our room was so clean and the rainfall shower was such a treat. Super comfortable bedding. There was a prom taking place the night we stayed and the staff thoughtfully gave us a room upgrade that was tucked away from any of the noise. We heard nothing. Highly recommend.

Our stays here are consistently comfortable and relaxing. Quiet and impeccably clean. Wonderful, considerate staff. The restaurant is great, they could offer more vegetarian options ( yes, we know it's known for steak but their salads and veggies sides are delish!)

Rooms were ok . Maid informed us we were only allowed to get towels and wash clothes every other day. Odd to me since most people I know shower daily. Would not recommend this hotel as it feel way below my expectations, Hilton is usually a high quality hotel and I usually enjoy my stay . This Hilton not so much

A great location near food and shopping and off a main road. The place still looks brand new. We did not have the breakfast, but know that this is one where they do not include it in the price. When eating at a Hilton Garden Inn before it was much better food than those included in the price.

Umm, not the greatest experience concerning breakfast, I am a Silver member, I purchased the breakfast included in the price and we were still charged for it. The room itself was spacious, the bottom of the bed was very dusty. The bottom of the air conditioner has broken parts. The one housekeeper doesn't like her job and told everyone's business, she was off the clock. The location was ideal if visiting the college. It wasn't really bad, I know the hotel is renovating so, I can't give too bad of a review. My first time going to Morgantown will be my last.

We stayed here after our vehicle broke down and needed repairs. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to make our unintended stay as pleasant as possible.
The hotel was in the process of renovations, but the inconvenience was minor, and our room was clean and comfortable.
The location was terrific for having food, shopping, banking and even health care a short walk away.
